The game is fun if you can get past the learning curve. Once you understand everything in the game, it becomes a lot more fun, especially if you have friends that play. My advice, however, is to play BOTH sides equally. There's too much argument going around as to what's fair and balanced and a lot of it comes from people who only play one side. Experience both, see for yourself. But give it time because no matter which side you play, it's going to seem unfair until you fully grasp the game's mechanics.

Steer clear if:

-You expect AAA quality
-Minor game bugs bother you (like dead hard exhausting me while still getting hit)
-You expect matchmaking to always be fair (because it won't). This game's ranking system needs an overhaul.
-You can't stand a toxic AF community (worse than League, Dota, R6 Siege, and CoD).
-You expect reporting players to have any kind of impact. BHVR pretty much has the attitude of, "clips or it didn't happen"
-You don't like long grinds. They've made it easier recently, but you still have to blow blood points (exp) on EACH character if you want their unique perks.
-You think game balance should be based on the top 1% of the playerbase like streamer Tru3ta1ent says it should. The game is balanced around rank 10 which is right in the middle (ranks start at 20 and go to 1). To his point though, as killer there's a huge difference between facing 4 solo survivors and facing a premade 4 man stack all on discord (nullifying the lack of any sort of in-game chat). There currently isn't a way to tell who is solo and who is in a group, and matchmaking doesn't give you the option to filter such parameters either.

All in all, if you're willing to put in the time, the game is fun, but if any of my aforementioned points are deal breakers for you, well then I don't know what to tell you other than it probably isn't for you. But at least try it out for the duration that steam allows you to refund if you end up not liking it.
