Wytchwood has an amazing string of stories, a beautiful setting, fantastic music and a really nice concept. Unfortunately the core game mechanic as many other reviews have stated is mind numbingly dull at best and infuriating at worst. It boils the storylines down to a series of fetchquests, where there was ample oppurtunity instead for some puzzles atleast to switch it up a bit? I've always had a disdain for excessive use of 'crafting up' which the game has plenty of. Which is all a damn shame because I loved almost every aspect of Wytchwood, but especially in the final chapters it'd become too much and I was compelling myself forward out of obligation to the achievement hunter inside of me. The ending was also rather disappointing, I didn't feel like I'd been given any closure as to why exactly it was us hunting all of these souls down, which felt like a cop out. I had been anticipating playing this for a while and feel just a bit let down.
