Behold the might of... Armilly!
SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech is an RPG game with deckbuilding elements. The main mechanic of the game is gathering cards by crafting them(using resources which you get from battles) or by collecting them after you win a fight. All 5 characters are unlocked step by step during the story. Every fighter has a deck with specific cards and a super-power according to the weapon you own. There is also a shop from where you can buy potions, weapons, items to help you in your journey and you can also sell different objects or craft/upgrade cards.
l
In every battle, you control only 3 characters and you can play 3 cards per turn(play 3 cards from the same character to unlock the special power of the weapon you own) given the fact that this game has turn-based combat. Also, the game has 3 difficulties: easy, normal, and hard. After you finish your first playthrough, you'll unlock a new difficulty called Legendary Remix and a New Game+ mode.
l
The story is nice and it tells you the adventures of a group of steamrobots(Armilly, Copernica, Galleo, Orik, Tarah and Thayne) who wish to defeat the Dark Lord and stop him from completing his evil plan. The end was a bit unexpected for me and I'm sure you'll be surprised too. I liked the animations and the soundtrack a lot, even though there are some serious negative aspects that I'll present to you in the next paragraph.
l
Long story short, the game is very repetitive. From some point, battles will become tedious and you'll wish to get over with them sooner(or at least this is what I wanted). I think this affects how the player will feel about playing the game, but it also influences the pace and joy. And this happens because every single battle works the same and what's worse is that many fights will become too long to keep your interest. Also, there aren't so many enemies encountered and once you learned what powers do they have, you'll become bored. Not to mention that you have to fight some bosses more than once and you'll get pretty tired of them.
l
I recommend it to RPG, deck building, and robot fans, but also to those who enjoyed the other games from the same developer. I got it on sale for 12.49 euros and given the fact that I finished the playthrough in 16 hours, I think it's a good deal.
l
My final score is: 7/10

Choose wisely!

She Sees Red is an interactive movie in which the storyline is affected by your choices. And when I'm saying that your choices affect the course of events, I mean it. This is not like other Choices Matter based games with the same outcome, no matter what you chose during the gameplay.

You have to finish the game at least 2 times to understand most of the story and figure out what's happening. It's a nice idea to make the player get through the game twice and find new details about the characters. And don't worry, a playthrough is very short, like 30-40 minutes, so you can get all the 4 endings without spending too much time watching the same scenes over and over again. Not to mention that you have the option to skip scenes after you finished your second gameplay, that if you want to play more than just those 2 essential playthroughs.

I played the game with English dubbing and subtitles and the lip-sync isn't that great(the original language is Russian and not English), but I didn't care too much about it and it still was a very interesting experience. Besides this little problem, the game is flawless. The actors play like professionals, the lighting, the editing, the music, and the plot are well done and all these elements combined make an exciting game, which should be played by all thriller and crime fans.

I got this game on sale for 2 euro and it's a great deal. If you're into FMV, thriller, choices matter games, then this is the right thing for you and you'd better give it a try.

Follow the path!

Journey is an interactive narrative experience and some people might think this is also a walking simulator and to some point, I agree. I can't call it a game though, just because there is no objective, there are no rules and the gameplay is very minimalistic. There is only you and the big world ahead of you, waiting for someone to discover it's secrets.

The story is told through a series of cutscenes and very various levels (from the highest peak of a mountain to the scorching desert). It's up to the player to understand the whole meaning of this and to discover what the developers intended to do when they created Journey. When I said that the gameplay is very minimalistic, I was referring to the fact that the character the player controls is only moving and possesses the power to fly. The graphics are amazing and I couldn't stop and not take screenshots every minute. And in the last, but not the least, the soundtrack is consistent with what's happening on the screen and some songs will make you shed a tear.

There is one negative thing in this game and that is the length: you can finish the game in less than 2 hours. So the full price of 12.49 euro it's not the best one you can get it. Despite being short, it has some replayability (you can choose other ways to reach the end) in it and you can enjoy more hours of play for the money you spent. I played the game on PS4 too and I can say for sure that you might be able to entertain yourself for a couple of hours after you finish the first playthrough.

I also recommend that you play using an Internet connection. And remember: not the destination is the important one, but the Journey and the adventures to get to the end. This is what it teaches us. Get "Journey", if you're into casual, atmospheric, very nice visuals and soundtracks.

Stay in the Light!

Little Nightmares is a horror platformer with a nice story and amazing graphics. The game is telling the story of Six, a child that must escape from a place filled with horrors and monsters. The atmosphere is very nice and gives you the creeps. The only friend you have is the small lighter in your yellow raincoat, that makes your way more brighter and keeps you safe from the dangers that lurks in the shadows.

The thing I disliked the most were the controls. I played with a gamepad(and it is recommended to so) but I died so many times not because I'm not skilled, just because some combinations of buttons are terrible: like you have to press Jump button and then hold the Grab button or else you'll fall and meet your death. The DLCs say the story of a boy tapped in the same place as Six and his adventures to get away from The Maw. They were a bit harder to beat than the base game but I think they're worth a playthrough given the fact they intertwine with the base story.

Overall, the game has a disturbing story and some nasty characters and it's ok to play it if you're into games like this one. I played the base game and the DLCs and they are not worth 30 euro. If you're interested, buy it on sale.

This is the kind of the game which makes you cry and in some moments be happy (mostly cry and be sorry for what's happening). It has an original story with some character development. I think it's an interesting way to understand the horrors of the Black Death and it teaches you that family and friends are the most important thing in this world. The story is pretty linear and not too hard to complete, although you need to develop some skills to act fast in some situations.

At first I liked this game... until the landlady kicked me out from the apartament. There are too many things to do : buy food, spy on people, go to work to earn money. All these actions consumes time and the money you earn are not sufficient for paying the rent, buy cages and food. There is no specific tutorial and the routine of watching people doing the same things everyday is boring. In conclusion, I feel like I'm being rushed, I can't properly enjoy this game; I like games like Beholder, Papers Please or Orwell, but this one is not for me !

The game is about 2 hours long. It has no story and the gameplay mechanics are very simple. What is frustrating is that you don't have a hint button, so some puzzles need a solution found on the internet. The art concept was great and for this price, it's worth it. The game is composed of 2 parts : the second one is like the first one, but there are some things that change. When you finish the first round, start a new game and do exactly what you did in the first one, except that you'll have some new items to collect and new puzzles to solve. .

If you like Ancient Greece and love to solve some mysteries this game is for you. Puzzles are quite interesting and the story makes you live the tale which is known by many, that with the Minotaur and the labyrinth.

The story was not so great comparing to the first game in the series. The visuals are good and the level of challange was acceptable. The Bonus Chapter was a little more interesting than the main game.
