Even if you can unlock it within the game, it's totally worth it to support the creator. Although I wish the cutscene art in high res was included with the game sprites, just for the sake of convenience like with the Helltaker Artbook.

Early Access Review
The game becomes really stale really quickly. The balance of cards is way off and the random element of locations, while nice is ultimately very limiting and often feels unfair. Especially the ones summoning random cards or giving you a free 6 cost. The randomness factor is major because of short games are and how little ways to react to it there are. They are way too swingy. The game being stuck in Portait mode isnt really helping matters either. It's fun, but only for about an hour, so for a mobile title that's a decent score, but not for a PC release. I hope with this game the creators have learned to release the balance changes often and swiftly and not like during Ben Brode's Hearthstone era. Many people say that it's "Not Pay 2 Win", mostly because it's only been out for a single day. Going to the shop, you can see that most offers are actually pretty bad deals. Definetly not the Hearthstone killer people want it to be.

I really love this game both visually and thematically. The animations can be a bit stiff, but I really love the overall look of the game, especially the music video parts. The character interactions are really wholesome, see them struggling, caring for each other, doing fun stuff, figuring stuff out. It's honestly a great experience with a lot of heart and love put into it. I would absolutely recommend this to everyone.

After the development hell this game went through and that its completion wasn't even certain, it really delivered. The Final Season is by far the best one.
The choices you make impact the game a lot more than in the previous ones (even tho Season 3 was quite decent with that too). They really hold a macro and micro changes to the game and relationships with the characters. The changes are probably also the most impactful too. All your decisions impact how AJ will act in certain moments and in the end, who he will become as a person. Also, the character dynamics change a lot depending on who you date and save.
The story isn't overambitious like some of the other ones (looking at Season 2) and I think that's one of its greatest strenghts. The plot itself isnt very complicated and the stakes aren't totally crazy. Because of that, the game had a lot more time to develop its characters. Their personalities and relationships is really what drives this game. I believe the entire cast is amazing, even some characters that start off as jerks, aren't irredeemable and more often than not, they have a reason to be jerks. (There's no Larry this Season.)
Being the final season, it has a lot of callbacks to the previous ones, but mainly Season One. But even without extenstive knowledge of it, I think it's still very enjoyable even for new players. The main cast of Clementine, Alvin Jr., Violet, Louis and Minerva really offer a great deal of depth and their relationships, as already mentioned, are the most interesting part of the game. It might not be a story about a huge cross country adventure, but because of that, it has so much time to focus on characters it already established. Very emotional, thrilling and overall enjoyable. And some LGBTQ+ representation is always a plus.

I actually quite enjoyed the game for the most part. However, I feel like it's cut a bit short. We only have little bits of the story, and while the dialogue is written pretty well, I really feel the actual scenes are lacking bigger context. I wouldn't be able to describe the personalities of both May and August, because there's just so little information about it. When I saw the bad endings with May dying I was feeling really weird about them. When Im all in support for taking care of yourself and others during Covid, telling us in one scene that "Im doing fine, the doctors say Im not in any danger and it's all fine" and then she dies the next scene. Very sudden. But it was the "Alone" ending that really made me uncomfortable. May was sleeping to little and overworking herself, so I suggested she should improve her habits, because we pretty much knew the cause and I thought going to the doctor's in the middle of the pandemic isn't really a good idea, especially when we know that sleeping too little might be the cause. I know you can't expect some things in life and that was probably the message that you need to take care of yourself at all times. However I feel it is a bit weird, that she wouldn't go to the doctor after the pandemic or even during it, if there was no signs of change with her headaches and feeling dizzy. I feel that in the end the message ends up being "You make a wrong move - You die." with no real room for overcoming such things, if you ever are in a hospital with something serious, it would always result in death. That's be a bit of a weird message to give, so hence my negative reception. Overall,I like the visual style and the cute relationship, but I feel like it's toying with the player too much. Especially giving such *subtle* dialogues like "If they haven't removed the tumor now, it would've been too late!". I feel it's only making people more anxious about they well-being, especially now.

Nominated for the OST, because this game deserves at least something from this year's rewards

Well. I've seen some people be really sceptical about the game. I can see that, but I think there's some good potential in this. There are some things I have a problem with tho. The voice acting isn't too good, maybe except Diego. As well as the writing of the dialagous is kinda meh, again maybe except Diego. The models aren't looking too good, but since it's 2 years before the release, I can accept that. I don't view it as a Remaster, because isn't not one, as for a Remake, it's fine for it to take some liberties here and there, because if I wanted to play the original again, I would play the original. I'm not a fan of the battle system, but I think it's a personal thing. The quests weren't too interesting, except the one about the pendant. If we can see more quests like this, I would be very pleased. My main issue is probably the main character. His voice and his lines are very weak, most of the time he acts like a moron. I know he's not supposed to be the exact same character, but still he's kinda bad. The things I do like tho, are the new world and mostly the new Diego. The characters are supposed to be different, having different personalities, sharing only the name and their role in the in-game world with the original, so I really like the direction they're taking Diego. I think the other characters need a lot of polish tho, mostly for the voice acting and the writing. And it's cool to see the old world with some new elements, the Exchange Zone looks actually kinda cool and there's much more to do here. The Beliar Temple is a nice touch and I expect it to be relevant later in the game. Maybe it's a minor thing that would be quickly fixed, but I really miss we can't even see the barrier yet. I think it was one of the most charming elements of the old world and is the defying feature of The Colony, so I'm kinda surprised it wasn't present here. (I mean visually, it's still a part of the story, but it wasn't visible)

All the characters are so one dimentional and unlikeable. The world kinda tries to imitate an open world, but in reality, it's small and closed. The maps are usually very boring and there isnt much to do. Choices you make dont really matter all that much too as many thing play out the same way and the whole 'Good - Evil' personality isnt really all that interesting and doesnt really do anything. Evil guys just have easier ways to finish quests and more rewards, so there isnt really a point of being good. Everyone Ive seen playing it, plays as a evil guy. The characters are bad anyway so killing them isnt really anything emotional, but in the end the end result is pretty much the same. For the most part no one really cares who you kill and no one will call you a murderer or will be hostile towards you because of that. So the system doesnt really work. The combat system is very, veeery boring with certain enemies you have to fight with your bow you dont really use and probably you dont have any good bows as you dont buy them. But if you get to certain spells you can be an OP beast. Most of them time youre either too weak to fight all those guys the game throws at you at once, or you're too strong. There's no in-between. Also, there's another thing. I feel like everything is so expensive, you really have to have A LOT of gold to afford any equipement and this is the only place you can get it, aside from the bonus chests and stuff
But. The game havent really encouraged to go for any of the bonus stuff, because it requires a lot of time or preparations. Like, the bonus content is as boring as the main game, so I dont really want to go around collecting some stupid crap which will give me some unworthy rewards. The side quests are also very boring and have no actual reason to exist, because they dont give you anything. I think I havent done any side quests as I was playing, maybe except for one at the very beginning. And as for the story... It doesnt really make any sense. The game keeps droping this heavy plot bombs on you, but none of it is actually interesting or enjoyable. The game just wants you to go all around its small world, so youre always all over the place in different locations with reasons usually being "There's a job there, so go and do it". The pacing is very off and some of the plot points doesnt really make sense or mean anything at the end. Like, you do something, but you dont really know why and what does it change. But maybe it was just me skipping all the boring dialogues. Im trying not to go in too much detail, because of the potential spoilers, but yeah. The game is bad.
