Just after an hour of playing it became one of my favourite platformer games ever.
It has many unique enemies, bosses, traps that you have to overcome and all of them have different fighting styles/patterns that you have to remember if you want to be successful in beating them.
Usually platformers don't have much of a story going for them ( at least the ones that i've played ) and that's another thing that surprised me. Hollow Knight actually has a rich story with many mysteries to uncover and it helps in driving the gameplay along and gets you invested in the world around you and characters you meet along your adventure.
It can be frustrating at times, especially when you lose 1k+ souls by making one dumb mistake several times in a row but that's part of the game and one of the reasons why your session would last an hour or two longer than expected which in exchange gives you a reason to get guud at it.
I'd definitely recommend Hollow Knight to anyone who is starting to lose interest in games since it can reignite that passion once again.
