compared to Stronghold Crusader 1, this game is sincerely bad. lacks balancing, lacks polish, lacks love.... gameplay feels way more boring than before. cannot recommend it in any way. who did the main menu screen? it looks like a students demo.

CoD just doesnt feel good at this point. dont get me wrong the gunplay is buttery smooth, i enjoy the movement system, but the gameplay itself just feels bland and not really rewarding. kills give me little to no satisfaction, all the different modes feel more or less the same to play, the screen is oversaturated with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. played CoD1 with some friends lately and it was 100% more fun than this. CoD 2022 feels like Lord of the Rings 2022; just an overpolished but nevertheless empty experience of a once great franchise.

I don't think I'll be doing much hunting this season, sad as that is. Map is beautiful to look at, but in my opinion plays worse from a gameplay perspective than its predecessors (mostly because of the additional verticality, some open positions are nearly impossible to push). Shots seem to connect worse than before, trades (simultaneous death of 2 players) seems to occur even more often than before, even though they claimed to have improved the netcode. Performance got frustratingly worse for me, even with me turning my graphics settings way down I still get freeze frames and fps drops (with a system that ran the game pretty smoothly before). I won't pile on the UI hate comments, its just not good and needs fixing, dunno how it feels on consoles though which the UI seems to be aiming at. But yeah, releasing a big and long awaited update like that, with nearly 0 gameplay beforehand, and without public testing leaves the impression on me, that Crytek knew exactly that the update they were releasing was not ready to be released, and they used the momentum they created to attract new& old players to a product they knowingly broke, or at least in its current state, works worse than before. The game feels more "fresh" right now because of the new map, but its not enough for me to look past all the new & old issues with this game. so based on my own experience, cant recommend in its current state, wish i could.

bought this game in expectation to play coop offline with controllers. didnt work at all though the game appears to be an controller friendly game. sad story.
