UPDATE 1: The community won. As of this post edit Sony has walked back the decision to require mandatory PSN account linking. However it is unknown how fast it will be to see Divers from countries that had the game removed due to the previous PSN linking mandatory requirement return to active diving.

Original Post as to remind what Sony had tried to do to a game that otherwise was a good GotY candidate:

I was gifted my copy by husband so I am not going to ask for a refund however I post this due to for an amazing game that yes has some bugs still going on and having a pretty solid community riding the role play train I can't recommend due to poor choices from both Arrowhead and Sony. Arrowhead for not better communicating this game demanded a PSN account beyond simply a small box here on steam and the one minor box initially setting the game up (this second half has changed since I had originally set the game up and can't comment properly what that looks like now but still not communicated very well to players). Most account link ups are for data reasons with occasional rewards not security. Any who say it is for security clearly has forgotten Sony's history of data breeches. If Sony really wanted to get into the PC space this demand for the account link is not the route.

It is probably one of the first potion simulator games I became aware of and played the demo when that was out. It had been so fun seeing this get deeper with what is involved. Having a medieval art vibe really settles you into the mindset of being an alchemist though the only real draw back is having only one song play on loop. However it is such a small flaw when everything else is fun to experiment to make a potion. Also at worst you might just pull up your own bardcore and or medieval lo-fi playlist to play in the background.

Looking to sink away some hours in a game that is easy to pick up in a matter of minutes? This quirky love child of Castlevania and reverse bullet hell became a rapid hit with a very gentle entry fee (was about $3 when I got it and even now the roughly 5 or so bucks at the time of this review is still a banger of a price to pay).

Be the bullet hell you were meant to be! It has a wide cast of characters to be with their own quirks and powers, mix and match other weapons and upgrades along the way. I played when this was still very early so it was interesting to see where it was going in the rapid updates that got us to where it is now at the time of this review.

I learned about this game from like an article either from Game Informer or phone. Easily have lost hours to this as I let the music set the mood and the scenes silently offer me a story that might be more to my imagination than the game itself. I haven't even done sandbox mode as I find doing the 'campaign mode' to be good enough for me. As each chapter sorta sets you up with a theme and in that theme a story that again I'm not sure if the game is giving or if its simply me trying to add one as I place my little plants into the wasteland. So had been beyond excited when they did give this game achievements as I picked it up before those were implemented. I love how while it's a simple to hop in type of game the challenges it throws are just enough to get you to think creatively.

If you asked me a year or so ago, yes I would have said this was a pretty good stand in for Overwatch. However what got me to stop was the changes they did to really nickle and dime you. I was someone who had bought the pack that would have let me get new characters as they came out free and unlock the roster. However one of those changes ends up making that pack useless now. Outside of that if looking for a game to fill in the overwatch slot and feel somewhat like its own thing yes this game does that. It was nice having some control of how to mix and match some cosmetics but I think that was changed killing that as well as of late.

When an update doesn't break the ability to host a game this is pretty good at getting the job of hosting various games. For a good while had a group run a dnd 5e through this and again when the servers were not broken from an update was pretty good.

It is hard to not say something that isn't already said about this title. Sure there may be drama when patches hit occaisonally breaking stuff but that is part of being a game that sees steady active attention with said patches. Getting things takes a lot of time and farming but par for the MMO course isn't it? The biggest thing that has me usually suggest this or least makes me want to go on and on about it: Computer a bit potatoe? It could probably run Warframe.

Well use to- minus Plains of Eidolon content. This content is what made me shop for a better computer finally. But for a long while before that I honestly could run the game at like the lowest settings and it was still super pretty to look at and somewhat.

This pretty much became a go to game if I had nothing else or felt like doing the usual grind type of things in MMOs. This one yes has an irl money currency but aren't forced into using it unless YOU want to for stuff or player trades that aren't just part for part or mod cards. Also while there is PVP it's main bread and butter is PVE with option to work with three other people in a mission.

Also for the partical controller note-it doesn't help that it doesn't teach you the controller binds during the tutorial (or least when I had done that) . That was something I had to look in the menu for and even then had me a bit lost until I just kept playing and learning as I went. As such I ended up learning how to play this game as if I was on a console version of this game or at least doing about 85% of my gameplay via controller.

LIke seriously if you want a game that is free to play, an active team that updates their game, a community that has a tendency to do go above and beyond what it needs to do for the game and each other this is it.

Gorgeous game-from the team who made Rock of Ages this was such a delight to see when it was first announced. Playing it I tend to to get caught up in art and design a lot of the time which can be seen as a minor fault as it can be distracting. It showed what happened when ACE Team were using stuff that wasn't just monty python route of ripping images and animating them. The lore used to weave the setting and imagry is excellent. I hardly touch rogue likes and the amount of the mechanic here is forgiving to a degree. It is still a hard game even on the easiest path. I can say from a controller view it controls somewhat nicely however I cannot say much from the keyboard method. I recall when trying to get a friend to run it co-op I had a hard time trying to teach them how to control as I had just went straight to controller.

In short if looking for a styish but challenging somewhat easy to pick up title I would suggest this.

Paper Sorcerer is at the end of the day a rather straightforward romp through several dungeon floors eventually to find an end. However the story while lihgtly touched out through out is a bit different than the usual reason of being thrown in a dungeon as well as how you form your party to fight your way out.

As someone who favors turn based combat for rpg titles this was certainly up my alley. However at times the controls for moving around the menues can make sorting out items and shuffling to stronger things troublesome at times. Yet this doesn't take away the enjoyment of lurking around every inch of floor just to find one last bit of treasure if not a whole secret room.

Saving is your friend however try to keep some notes around as it doesn't really help you out understanding what you last did if you decide to take a long break from the game.

Best played with friends but god help you don't have a host that works for everyone ping wise. Ideally you want no one above 100 ping as it renders that player unable to really function which becomes worse when they are chosen as the ghost. Outside of that the game feels solid for not having many location choices but in those choices is complexity of layouts that can get players turn around often. As well as a number of little hidey places. Least that was how that was for me as both human and ghost. The vibe is rather spot on of keeping the humans on their toes with some ambient sounds being rather ambiguous as to it was caused by the ghost or not.

The big thing for me that makes the game hard is the mouse setting. Without numbers I don't think I will ever find the sweet spot of my mouse not being painfully slow and too fast.

Honestly as someone who never got really into horror titles let alone things that have jump scares I can get behind recommending it as in someways being with friends makes the horrors both easier and worse to deal with depending on what happends.
