I love this game.

This is a nice Alien spin-off game. I recommend it, even better on sale.

Although the game tries so hard at tactic squad-based game format, not unlike XCOM games, but this game actually plays like a RPG with limited number of maps and linear story line. That means with each maps, you are given objectives that you want to complete as many as you can in 1 run. If things goes out of hand, you can extract and come back to the same map later. Unlike many other squad-based game, a dead squad member in this game sucks, everyone counted, and your experienced soldiers are the most valuable ones so unless you challenge yourself, you should save scumming when chaos happens. Devs does put in a limit of how many runs you can do in a campaign with a doomdays clock, but you can turn it off for even an easier experience, but I recommend you left it on.

Sound is designed for stealthy, which mean mostly between ambient and action thriller kind of sound. Not so bad, in my opinion. They does include some cameo lines here and there, if you are a fan you may find it fun to hear.

Devs design this game with stealth in mind, with evidence of skills and tools that helps you get around enemies. But as game goes on, especially after 3 missions with built-in infestation rate, the game came out as anything but stealth, as you get so many enemies around you that you should just start blasting everywhere. Also, enemies does have a chance to drop a kind-of currency that helps you get stronger in missions so if you are actively avoiding enemies, you just shoot yourself in the foot.

There are questionably bugs, not game breaking, but not fun. For example, there is a side mission, that is bugged, even if solved perfectly when you return to the base bad thing still happens. Others mostly annoying bug like a squad member suddenly decided he gives up running, or whoever holding a shotgun decided to ignore my order is the best course of action when enemies is charging into them.

Mine is OP, mine upgrade is, however, so bad. Don't upgrade your mines. New game plus are there with your entire squad back with their level but not equipments and upgrades. You can challenge yourself after beating the game but with same maps, same story lines, it is not for me, as the experience of the unknown is not there anymore, but maybe for you.

The story, while short, is actually good, they do give more questions than answer and leave us hanging but I am sure you will be satisfied. I do wish this game has more content but what I got is good enough.

If I have to nitpick, this is a good but punishing game, don't play this game on your bad day.

Die isn't as fun as Hades in this game, the grind to unlock is long. Even so, aside from upgrades for your character, I bet for a good majority of your game time you (should) only stick to your most comfortable weapon/skill. This makes unlocking things is a chore and only for discovery. After awhile you will confident enough to try something new.
The final true ending map has no upgrade smithy, so going there after unlocking the true ending is a waste of time as you die or win that map means nothing, your hard earn upgrade material will lost no matter what you do. Too bad that map has a good design boss.
There are maps with HORRIBLE design, that once you clear that map for story or unlocking things sake you never want to enter again.
Music is a banger, I'd even recommend buy it.

This is a weird game, pun intended.

This game is a kind of twin stick shooter, with favors to shooting, melee is trash or very hard to work. So unless you do stealth, just shoot them. Yes, even with melee-oriented character. The shooting is very fun tho. Skill is very balance, no need to stress what to use, just use everything.

Bugs are everywhere, and there are all kind of weird bugs. For example, you could aggro a whole town because of a random encounter near that very town. Or your companion refuses to follow you or participating. I could go on. Most bugs can be fixed by simply close the game and start again. But annoying.

The story is engaging, but world setting is nice. You can experience and do everything you like then suffer the consequence. But still this is a small game in a small world, you will run out of fun activities and you will feel boring at some point and want to rush story to see where it goes. Not a bad thing, just a warning.

I recommend this game on a sale. The experience is worth it, you may not even want to play this game again after you've done with it, but a ride you will have is a good ride.

Have to be honest, this game is good, but is a hard game. Enemies is a great pain for you to passthrough and bosses will combo you to dead if you make so much a single mistake. So beware, if you think you are a more casual gamer, this game is not for you.

But overall this game provide everything you want as metroidvania: challenge, ranking, badass boss music, unique biome, a must try if you are ready.

A great metroidvania kind of game that offers great combat, bittersweet story, outstanding music and beautiful atmosphere.

This game is the best metroid game I've played for awhile, I must simply urge you if you are reading this, that you should just give this game a try, I am sure you will not regret it.

A fantastic novel with a unique sport game. It need more to be a perfect game, for example, unlike their previous games(and next game), most lines in this game are spoken not in English, prevent us to fully immerse in their feeling via spoken words.
The gameplay(the Rite), while fun, is repeated and can either be too easy, or nailbiting experience, with little reward to show for it, making the entire exchange(or a match) is just courtesy, and the outcome is pretty much depend on you.
The music just simply majestic.
So, pretty much, this is a novel. Approach this as such and you will be pleased after the journey.

Short, but challenging and fun 2D Soul-like experience. Recommended for all indie lovers out there.
