This is a resource collecting simulator. Some players may like that. Not for me. Nice graphics and atmosphere. Respect to the devs, but I need more than collecting plants constantly.

This game is pretty much just a throwback to Titan Quest. I AM still playing, in hopes something exciting happens, then maybe I'll get what the big deal is. Now dozens of hours into this game, a character close to level 60, and still not a nice drop to make my character seem more powerful. Paying for a game like this, when you could be playing a free game like Path of Exile seems odd. Grim Dawn is alot of fun for a couple dozen hours, then you realize the excitement is only because it's something different. It falls short in 90% of all categories.

The skills feel weak. Hitting enemies feels empty. There is nothing that makes you feel any impact when striking something. You just see the skill, and you see the enemy die.....that's it. Imagine playing PoE as a Cyclone player....now imagine Cyclone making no contact sounds as it hit mobs. That's how all the skills in Grim Dawn are. Skill immersion doesn't exist. The game has a great atmosphere, but the combat and skills are just really plain. It doesn't compare to PoE, not even slightly. If maybe 30 hours is worth the money, knock yourself out.

Notice MOST of the positive reviews are from people with very little hours played? That's because they are still hyped on the great concept of this game. Turn those 12 hours into 120 hours and see how you feel then..... read on.....


I could talk about how disappointing this game is for HOURS, but I won't. The game is fun for the first 20 hours, until you realize that you have done ALL the content the game can offer. ALL THE CONTENT! The community wants what the Devs haven't delivered. Now the Devs released the game, RAISING THE PRICE, and I guess hoping that modders take over and make it a real game. They are releasing this game which is full of bugs, and lacks much to do....and they have no answers. Stick to Mount & Blade. This game tried to clone the idea and add guns, but they fell way short. If the raised price is worth the FEW days of excitement you'll get...by all means, toss it away to people who stopped caring.

Infinite load screens. Servers with all your hard work not showing up. More bugs than Ark. Yet they just added dining room tables and wall clocks!! Wait awhile before putting your money into this. Look at the forums and you'll see how many people can't even play the game they paid for.

Update 4/7/19:
Last update just made the game more bugged. Support doesn't communicate. Update notes say things that aren't in game.....what?? Horses still getting stuck on rocks the size of footballs. Yet they added a new barber shop. Still no single player for alot of players....been that way since launch. Bugs galore. More time, more bugs. Game will likely be better in a year or more, but they don't seem to have the experience to develop new things without causing issues with other things.

Update 9/14/19:
Single Player is finally working, yet there are the SIMPLEST bugs going on.....like I go to select my ax in hotkey 1, and I equip mt bow from hotkey 3.... Can't really say much more..... This is how the game is..

This game sucks horribly. Someone should be ashamed of themselves and fired for even doing this in 2012.

This Game is BAD!

Pros:
Decent graphics and sound

Cons:
CUT SCENES GALORE!! Had to be about 50 cut scenes in the first 45 minutes. I'm not exaggerating here! Cut scenes in the middle of your actions. It's just a nightmare getting through the beginning.
Controls are a nightmare. Can't use your mouse in the menus. It's all keyboard and click.
R key to take an enemy's weapon. R key to pick up his body. I wanted to move his body, not take his gun!
Alot of actions require you to hold one key, then click another. Why not just one key? I don't want to play piano.
Crosshairs are terrible. You have 4 dots around the outside of the enemy in your sights. Way outside.... Why not have a normal crosshair?
The comabt alltogether is just weak and loose feeling.
Your character likes to lean against a wall just from you walking passed it. Give me the option to hide, don't do it for me.
Guns are also close to spray and pray. You can't aim directly at something and expect to hit it. Your hit is based on chance.

I really can't go on. If these cons are what makes a game good, then by all means, have at it. I've played better games 10 years older than this.

This game is from 2013, but feels as old as 2002. Some people love this game. I don't understand how. It's real wonky and cheap feeling. Shooting NPCs has no feeling of impact. Just a tiny gunshot sound, and the NPC falls. I tried playing a few years ago, it was bad then, too. Figured I'd try it again. Mistake. Want stealth? Play Dishonored.

This is a pretty immersive game, and it's done quite well. Not much to say, really. I'll get right to the point and a couple things.

1) Skyrim meets Metalgear, but way way better than both. The game is simply one of the best I've ever played. Get it!

2) Be ready for ALOT, and I mean ALOT of story. There is more story than actually doing things. Conversations are LONG, but can be skipped, bit by bit. It's personally too much story for me. Way too much. Doesn't matter, though....It's just that good!!

3) You just wasted time reading, when you should be already playing...

Bottom line, it's a great game. One of the BEST! EVER! Get it. Now!

This game hasn't progressed much at all. I don't even have the time to mention all that's wrong with this game. It's just a basic hut builder game. Add some meaningful content, guys. You've had years to do this. Instead you add stupid boss fights and players FARTING! Be ashamed. This is the same game it was years ago, only you add little things that don't make the game any better. Hire some devs with creativity. People are still riding on the that "Ohhhh a tropical survival game" hype, and not coming to the reality that it just didn't go anywhere.

Absolutely NO! Had a bug in the first 5 minutes.
