Conclusion: The chemical changes that occurred were in parts 1 and 5. In part 1, when the chalk and vinegar were stirred; the stirring caused foaming/bubbling which indicated a chemical reaction occurred and created gas. In part 5, The gel fuel combusted when lit with a match causing it to burn and char which indicated a chemical change.
There were 3 different types of mixtures made in part 1,2, and 4. In part 1, a suspension was made by stirring chalk and vinegar together. This was a suspension because the mixture formed 2 different layers during the stirring and after the stirring was very chunky and sandy with excess chalk still attached to the calcium acetate. In part 2, a solution was made when filtering the calcium acetate from the excess chalk. This was a solution since the liquid filtered was clear which is a solution according to the Tyndall Effect.
