This DLC has absolutely broken EU4. I tried to do a Castile to Spain game to try out the new colonies system but events would never pop up for me, making the Iberian wedding event impossible to get.

Something similar happened when I tried playing Majapahit where once the fall of Majapahit disaster fired nothing would happen. I'd get no unrest, no stab hits, nothing.

The game in it's current state as of this DLC's release is almost unplayable.

Just give us EU5 or Vicky 3 already

Early Access Review
Scroll all the way down for TL;DR

Keep in mind that when the steam front page says "Early Access Game" you have to take those words by heart because it's been a work in progress for a while. But now as I'm typing this review the game is in the greatest state it has ever been and has seen so much improvement from great developers. A roadmap was recently posted on what the devs plan to do next in the future. This roadmap can be found on the website and in the "About this Game" section of this page.

Let's get on to the pros and cons.
Pros:
-Great cooperative community (a few griefers and trolls here and there but they're usually dealt with by the admins)
-This game caters to the community a lot and the devs deserve a lot of praise for it.
-The graphics are amazing and are stunning considering this is a game made by a small company such as Campfire Games
-The Historical accuarcy is on point
-The game encourges you to cooperate with your team by giving you suppresion debuffs for not sticking with your team and acting as a cohesive unit.
-The overall immersion is perfect
-The scene of Antietam is absolutely perfect and amazing and it's absoluetly large as it stands 4x4 Km. Not to mention the addition of Harpers Ferry

Cons:
-The melee needs work and the devs already know this and are working on it
-The game needs a bit more optimization as some people are still experincing crashes
-The game is very long-paced but it all depends on who's leading each team. Most battles lead to two lines firing at each other for about an hour. (But keep in mind that musket combat is always slow-paced)
-The only gamemode currently avaliable is skirmish and this is a much more scaled down version of the main game's mode (That's currently unreleased) where 150 players engage each other on a sectioned off portion of Antietam or Harpers Ferry and one side has to capture a historical position such as bloody lane at Antietam.
-No killfeed to see if you hit your target (But this topic has been debated as the devs wanna try to make this game as realistic as possible and the hud completely minimized as it can be)

In conclusion if you want an American Civil War game that tries to be historically accurate as much as it can this is your game. But as of right now if you're looking for gameplay you may wanna wait on the purchase and wait for the devs to tweak and add in more things. This game has amazing potential and also holds community events where players cooperate in lines and use actual Civil War tactics in-game.

8/10 Amazing game but is still being polished and I can't wait to see the complete final product.

TL;DR
Buy for fun with friends and historical accuarcy and community events
Don't buy if you're only interested in gameplay as it's not completely finished yet.

Do not be alarmed about all of the negative reviews.

I'll rate the game off of graphics, optimization, and gameplay.

Graphics 9/10. The graphics are stunning and a direct upgrade from theHunter classic. Sometimes you'll find yourself just standing there and enjoying the view.

Optimization. 8/10. The minimum graphics card for this game is a GTX 660. I am currently using a GTX 750 TI and I'm running the game as fine as an ocean wave. However there are some bugs and issues that can make an annoyance; for instance, when I got a mission where I had to take a picture of an animal, the key for taking the picture was unbinded and I missed the chance twice, it was tedious really. The settings menu and UI in-game is a bit buggy as well. But I expect these issues to be fixed in the coming weeks.

Gameplay 7.5/10. Tracking, hunting, and killing your first deer is quite satisfying really. However I did have some issues with the animals AI; for instance, There was a deer that did nothing but run in circles around me. It was humorous but annoying. I tried to put the deer out of it's misery but it just kept running as fast as it could. I ended up putting three rounds into him sadly, I aimed for his heart twice but the bullet seemed to just evaporate before it met it's target. I finally scored a penetrating shot and it got stuck on a tree and stared at me for a minute and then fell over. The AI in Call of the Wild™ is kind of an upgrade to theHunter Classic. There are actually feeding and drinking areas that animals will go to and you can sit there and wait for them to show up and take a trophy, but they are a bit buggy sometimes.

Another thing that stunned me was the map. Currently in Call of the Wild™ there are two maps: Hirschfelden and Layton Lake District. Hirschfelden is a map from theHunter Classic but the catch about this is that the map has been expanded by three times the size it used to be. The maps in theHunter Call of the Wild™ are enourmous and if you're in a multiplayer lobby and feel like hunting alone, you can go anywhere and everywhere.

Finally this is important that you read this if you didn't like theHunter Classic.
Are your ready for this?

Are you sure?

Ok here we go.

THERE ARE NO MORE MICRO-TRANSACTIONS
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BUY A MEMBERSHIP OR LISCENSIS TO HUNT IN CALL OF THE WILD™
THIS IS A GOD SEND
THANK YOU EXPANSIVE WORLDS

For a total overall reveiw. I'll give it a 7.5/10
The game is amazing, the bugs are the major drawback.
If you don't wanna buy the game because of the bugs, that's ok. Just check back in the next few months for updates that fix these.

I'll edit this reveiw when the bugs are sorted out.

EDIT: UI ISSUES SEEM TO BE FIXED. IGNORE EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT THE UI.
