I only have 600 hours of this game and also only level 40, but I have played this game since 2015, and I want to give my insight on the current state of the economy.
As a free-to-play player, it is really hard for me to keep playing the game, because Gaijin keeps making the economy straight up impossible to grind. I am now at 7.3 Germany, and If I lose two tanks without killing anyone, I could lose up to near 20k silver lions. For me to get those 20k back, I need to kill at least 5 tanks with the leopard 1 next game. If I go on a losing streak, where I lose both my tanks (leopard 1 and M48) I basically go bankrupt.
Also, one important thing to mention, I have to handicap myself so I can afford to play. I play the leopard 1 without artillery and engine modifications, because if I play with those modifications, I pay more reparations and earn less silver lions (the multiplier goes from 2.0x to 1.9x).
Gaijin might not read this, but for new players who are interested in trying this game: don’t. It’s fun at the beginning, in low tiers, but later on it will be a headache, and Gaijin certainly won’t help you whatsoever.

EDIT: They have annouced new updates that will fix and add way more reliability to the gameplay. I congratulate all of the community for banding together for the good of the game <3
