Great game! Fun for all skill levels, however like most multiplayer games, there is a subtantial amount of toxicity so be prepared for it

* somewhat spoilers*

I picked this game up free from the humble bundle. I will say right out
that I am usually not much into first person shooters but since I have heard good things
and it was free, I thought why not?

I actually ended up really enjoying this game. I just completed it after about 40 hours of play time (I can't believe I
have played that long!). I might play through again some time and try for the "enlightened" ending.

The user interface is nice and not cluttered although it seems a little skimp at times.
The game play is fun and diverse. The mutants kind of remind me of the monsters in the original
doom game from the early 1990s. I love scavenging items in boxes or off of dead bodies
and there are lots of things to find. I found the volt driver gun early on and I am glad I did.
It is quite challenging at times but usually in a good way. Very immersive where you could feel
like you were really there. That make it both exciting and engaging as well as creepy.

That all said, there are some bad parts.
There are some bugs where things won't always behave like you would expect.
If you run out of filters, it becomes impossible to take your gas mask off
which ends up either getting cracked or is already cracked. I had this happen
during the frontline level and it made it REALLY hard because I could barely see.

There are also some graphical bugs such as z-fighting and misaligned objects.
Also sometimes things would briefly appear in a certain place before it was supposed to
which would make it feel unsmooth at times.

Also AI bugs/deficiencies that could get annoying. Not insurmountable though

I played on "easy" being a newbie to FPS games but I didn't notice some of the other things
that people were mentioning. I didn't find biomass very hard at all. I also found ammo plentiful.

On the surface, it was easy to get lost or confused and run out of gas mask filters.

One gripe about the gameplay is that it is very scripted not giving you many choices
sometimes. I would prefer a little more flexibility here. There is also a lot of cutscenes.

It is kind of a hybrid between an interactive story game, a shooter and an action-adventure game.

Overall it is a great game. Even for $15 it is a fine deal.
I am thinking about buying Metro Last Light now.
