Slime rancher is a... well.. the name speaks for itself. You collect slimes in a huge world, take them back to your farm, feed em, and you get these diamond things called "Plorts"; Sell those and get profit. But that's not all though. There are different slimes with different attributes and quirks for each type of slime AND you can combine 2 different types of slime into 1 largo slime that poops out (yes, they poop the plorts out when you feed em) the plorts of those 2 slimes that you combined! In this way, you could double your profit in no time. Well, enough of me rambling on about the game, its time for the pros and cons.

Pros/Cons (+/-):

+Huge open world (Biomes!)
+A wide variety of slimes to keep in captivity for your profits
+Adorable slimes
+Farming! (you can grow fruits and vegetables to keep your slimes fed and happy while in captivity)
+Your character's tools and farm can be upgraded (also, color customization)
+LOTS of lore! (slimes, tools, unlockables, character story, etc.)


-Can get a little tedious, needs more automization.
-Not much to do after you've gotten all the upgrades and stuff.
-Needs more optimization (the game slows down when you've played for a while)

I peed myself

After 500+ hours of gameplay, 4 lvl 90 characters and 7 under-leveled ones, I think it's safe to say that this game is actually pretty good for a very old game. It reminds me of my days playing maplestory (RIP) and is a refreshing change from all the visual eye-candy games that I play. The combat is very smooth and fluid as long as you know your character's skills and skill flow (battlemage FTW). Lots of characters and subclasses to choose from, each catering to every gamer's play-style. Not P2W, but rather more Farm-to-win. The only bad thing I found out about this game is that it is running on P2P connection. Meaning, if you have good internet but one of your party members are lagging, then you lag too. Which is kind of a bummer. But overall, this game got me really hooked. 9.5/10

Pros/Cons: +/-

+Wide array of characters to choose from, and each character has at least 2-5 subclasses each.
+Each character has different storylines and different interactions with some NPCs.
+Fluid combos (smooth transition from auto-attack to skill)
+Flashy skill animations
+Easy to max out your character levels just from scenario quests (and a little bit of grinding on the side)
+GM's give free stuff sometimes and are very approachable.
+The community is very helpful to newbies (like me)
+Farm to win. None of that microtransactions BS.

-P2P connection :/
-No character customization (Either buy avatar pieces in auction hall, purchase time-restricted av's with mileage, or buy av pieces in the cera shop)
-PVP is kind of broken (because P2P connection)
-Some characters can be hard to play and require thorough gearing for it to be effective

I have never played Drakengard or the first NieR, but I can definitely say that this game is a masterpiece in its own way. The gameplay is an ARPG (Action Role-playing game) w/c features an open world, bullet-hell/hack and slash style with lots of secrets packed into 1 amazing game. The story is beautifully made, filled with lots of emotion and roller coaster rides (literally. there's an amusement park level.), One minute, you're happily doing main quests and side quests, but then the story hits you. It's not all happy moments, but there is an underlying message in the dialogue (you just have to play it so you can see why).

Overall, the gameplay is quite solid. It's neither too easy nor too hard, you just have to be, as they say, "GIT GUD" in order for you to make progress in the game. It's perfectly catered to casual gamers and hardcore gamers alike (there's an easy mode, where pretty much the AI plays it for you. But I prefer normal mode since I like quite a bit of a challenge in the games I play). It has rpg elements wherein you can make different types of builds for different playstyles or overall general farming (yes, this game can be a bit grindy because of the plug-in chips and materials to upgrade weapons and pods).

The only negative I experienced in this game is the horrible port (not optimized for PC gameplay). FPS issues (but I guess that's my own fault since I don't have a good GPU) but that was remedied by using the FAR mod located in the discussions.

Well, enough of me rambling on about this masterpiece. Play it, it's definitely worth it.

+Wide open world (no loading screen between maps)
+Versatile builds for different playstyles
+Very well-made characters (dat 2B booty) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
+Masterfully written storyline
+Each weapon even has a background story to it
+Lots of tidbits of info relating to the first NieR games
+Amazing sound track
+Farming! (leveling and grinding for materials. Not the literal farming)


-Horrible PC port (but can be fixed through mods)
-The camera can be annoying during battles
-9S (love his hacking skill, hate using this guy)
-some parts of the game can be a little bit dragged-on
-could use more dev support (no patches in months)

Bloody, intense, glorious gameplay. Encourages players to stick together and cooperate with each other. Definitely one of my favorite games to play. Highly recommended!

Simple gameplay mechanics, adaptive difficulty, and an awesome soundtrack. The soundtrack is what really keeps me going even if I had died a couple of times. Would totally recommend this game to friends.
