As much as I hate to say it, the UI change killed any interest I have in the game and future updates.

When this game is out it's going to be the best tank game on the market period. Prioritize Russian voicelines and West Germans next!!!!

Don't bother, despite the numbers this game is snowballing downhill in terms of quality.

Devs took a huge step towards ruining this game when they implemented MMR in 2021. Ever since, they've nerfed survivors into the ground with every single update because the very top 1% of players can manage to get a single person to escape 50% of the time. Killers just need to git good.

I've had a negative review on this game since launch because of the terrible state it released in, and due to the fact that to this day the game runs like a slide show on any resolution above 1080p. However, I'm changing that as of the release of Thrones of Decay.

The developers still working on this title are amazing people that just want to see Total War: Warhammer done right, and as long as the level of passion shown with Thrones of Decay continues I believe TW:WH3 can be kept alive with new content for years to come. With SEGA actively watching the latest DLC's performance to see if the game needs to be shuttered, right now the community needs to band together to keep the series alive.

Hands down the best historical Total War game ever made.

It's eh, would recommend either buying the DLCs separately or waiting for a sale.

The DLCs contained within this pass vary in quality and worth imho, and it is important to note that overall none of the divisions are as competitive as the ones offered in the Western Front DLCs or Burning Baltics. They do however offer great unit diversity and, as the title of the pass suggests, historical accuracy as far as composition.

Fate of Finland adds a couple decent maps and the divisions are unique but not very competitive. The Soviets get some decently strong divisions, and the Axis gets meh-tier Finnish divisions with the nice touch of Finnish voice actors. Worth it on sale but the Axis divisions are infantry focused, very limited in capability, and require much skill to use effectively. The Soviets get a very nice armored division out of Gruppe Vyborg, however it isn't the strongest compared to other similar decks.

Death on the Vistula adds some Polish divisions as well as some very strong Axis divisions, personally my favorite DLC of the three. The Polish divisions aren't very strong, however the Axis gain a fantastic armored division with 5. SS-Panzer and a unique and strong blend of strong infantry, AA, and support with the 1. Fallschirm-Panzer HG division.

Black Sunday is not that good. Overall it has the widest unit diversity of the three DLCs, however they are unfortunately also the least competitive. The Romanian divisions are admittedly fun, with a good mix of infantry and armor which most Axis divisions lack, however they don't stack up very well against the others overall. The Soviet divsions are very cool in concept, with a VDV airborne division and a naval infantry division comprising two of the three, however they absolutely suck and are some of the weakest in the game.

This game is an experience like no other. It may leave you overwhelmed and confused, or leave you truly in awe (and your wallet in terror). The base game is free, why not give it a try?

From the first time I jumped into the cockpit of an Su-25T with nothing but a keyboard and mouse in 2013, this game has defined almost a decade for me as one of the most unique and inspiring experiences I have ever had period.

Steel Division: Normandy '44 is one of the best modern WW2 RTS games in the market currently. While I have some gripes that I will detail below, this is definitely a must-have for any World War 2 enthusiasts interested particularly in the Western Front and the invasion of Normandy. I do recommend that you also take a look at Steel Division 2 however, as in my opinion it is a drastic improvement over the gameplay of Normandy '44.

The Positives:
+Several historically accurate divisions to choose from, including the 21. Panzer-Division and US 1st Infantry Division
+Hundreds of units, most historically accurate and some not, that were present during the the invasion of France IRL
+Three decent campaigns from the perspectives of the US, Germany, and the Commonwealth respectively
+Significantly improved AI from previous installments along with several difficulty options
+15 different maps, and some can vary in size proportional to player count
+Semi-Destructible environments
+Phase mechanic, while not liked by some, adds an extra layer of depth to unit selection which in my opinion makes matches more interesting
+New mechanics like surrendering and extended component damage to vehicles makes combat more enjoyable, albeit frustrating at times
+Balanced gameplay as far as I can tell
+Default keybinds are mostly good, and adjustable

The Negatives:
-Not so great UI, definitely a step down from the Wargame series. Unit tags not aesthetically pleasing and while adjustable feel too big
-Certain units such as tanks cannot cross woodland terrain, which can make their use frustrating at times
-Weapon engagement ranges are frustrating and unrealistic. A PaK 40 should be able to shoot farther than 1.2km
-Frontlines mechanic makes combat more predictable, reveals general location of units and makes recon units have less worth
-Lack of variability with units in respect to skill and availability in different phases. This is present in Steel Division 2
-Very small playerbase
-Graphics are a step down from Wargame. Takes a decent processor/graphics card duo to run well

While there are certainly a lot of negatives, I still feel that this game is great for those who enjoy WW2 and/or RTS style combat. Gameplay is nonetheless interesting and very enjoyable, and while unrealistic proves to be great fun when understood.

7/10

Probably the best World War 2 shooter currently on the market. The addition of a radioman was genius, and I love how the game encourages teamwork. 10/10

If this review was posted from 2015-2018 it would absolutely be positive, but unfortunately with each update and rebalance Ubisoft manages to make this game worse and worse. They completely took away the military spec-ops aspect of this game and made it into some sort of fantasy league crap, for what reasons I cannot even begin to fathom. Tom Clancy is rolling in his grave no doubt. The UI is now all sorts of neon colors and hideous, the new characters are uninspired and cringeworthy, and the future of the game only gets more grim as time wears on. Enjoy what little remains of what once was the best competitive shooter on the market. Go invest in Ground Branch or Ready or Not if you want a far better (albeit milsim-y & janky) experience.
