Despite being essentially excel it is a very deep game. It fulfills a niche I never knew I wanted and allowed me to build a navy to rule them all. Different curve-balls get thrown at you as time progresses, from the first fire-control, to dreadnaughts, to aircraft, to missiles, all keep you on your toes and force you to adapt. This is an excellent game that although with dated graphics is one of the best strategy games out there.

This is one of those games that has a very rocky release but after a little more developing shines like a gem. There are numerous ways to develop and expand your nation along with a multitude of mechanics that are relatively easy to learn but hard to master. I played it only for a couple of hours back when it first released as it was bad back then but it is now so much better.

This is a vey addictive game but hard to master. It is well worth the $20 it costs.
