It's not bad

It gets fun after a few hours

This is a classic!

Sadly when you buy the Gold Edition on steam, you don't get the Alexander DLC.

The Barbarian Invasion has one problem, chosen archers have bleeped up graphics.
If you want an even better experience, I would suggest learning how to modify the descr_strat files to play as every faction. Nothing beats the satisfaction of invading Gaul as the Franks.

For the normal campaign, it is a challenge to get used to, but it is entertaining to form the Roman Empire through a bloody civil war in late game for control of all the Empire. Carthage is the best challenge because it is fun... fun to get kicked out of Sicily while invading Iberia.

My rating for this classic RTS would be a close 10/10, in reality 9.7/10.
Barbarian Invasion would get a solid 9/10
Alexander would be 8/10 ( I rated this because I had the DLC before I got Steam )
