Arrowhead studios is amazing, though sadly beholden to sony. Sony has finally listened to the community and changed their mind about making the game unplayable for many. Glory to democracy.

First off, any good review starts with a list of pros and ♥♥♥♥. I'll put those down and go deeper into them, but first some background info.

I have been playing rend for over a year now, even in the pre-alpha where it was a radically different game. I don't always have time to play, but whenever I did, I would hop on, get in the discord, and chill with my faction while gathering resources. While I'm not as active in-game due to IRL issues, I am very active on the discord and the community there is amazing.

Pros:
The game is visually stunning. I know a lot aren't a fan of this kind of art style, but at night time looking up at the amazing planets and stars looks amazing. The different biomes and animals all look great as well.
Classes are also pretty cool and add an extra layer of depth to the game that can allow for another run through with a different set of classes, giving it more replayability
Taming - Unlike ark where you wait for hours to tame a single dino, rend has an interesting taming system where you essentially have to prove your worth by killing the animal first, then taming them in the spirit realm.
Community (kind of) The community is great, especially if you hop in the discord and talk to the people in your faction.
Finally, the devs. The devs for this game are extremely open and are constantly in discord talking to the players about new updates, helping fix bugs, and looking over player suggestions which is amazing.

At the time of this review, the devs are planning on adding features that may fix this issue but that is in the future, so for now the biggest issue is trolls and griefers. Most of us know what that entails so i won't go too far into it, but lots of people stealing resources and dying, people starting fights and being really toxic in chat, making bad steam reviews because they got banned, etc. Hopefully it can be fixed, but for now it is a large issue.
Minor bugs - While bugs still pop up every now and again, they are starting to finally disappear. It's an early access game so bugs are expected, and luckily all the game breaking ones were cleared out in EA.

The game so far is wonderful and that's why i am leaving a positive review. But, reviews are made to try and help others decide whether or not to get the game. For those people trying to decide, if you are a fan of survival games i recommend this. However, you will struggle if you play solo. The most fun is gained out of this game if you play with a group - Join the discord and you can find lots of different groups, or even just ask your faction mates if they have a discord. While the game is extremely fun, it can be ruined by the large amount of trolls. The devs are pretty good at dealing with them, but there are a large amount of trolls and griefers. Luckily a new patch comes in to help that soon. I'll be updating this review as i play and as bugs or issues come into play, but so far i would definitely recommend this game.

I highly reccomend rimworld, But do take in mind that it is an RTS game, and not all will enjoy it. But for those that do like it, will love it. It is a great game that is constantly getting updated, the dev for this game (tynan sylvester) is one of the best game devs i have seen. The community, as far as i can tell from my hours of going through the forums, is actually not that bad. And the game overall is great. You are able to build massive colonies and defend yourself from sieges, raids, and even the common cold. It is great fun just building up your colony and creating stories as you go along. This is my favourite game, You won't regret buying it.
