As a connisseur of loading screens and menus, this game has without a doubt the best ones in the Tropico series! Would like to know how the game plays, but unfortunately...

Pros: Great menus and loading screens!

Cons: Kalypso didn't bother to consider that not everyone has a top-of-the-line graphics card, and didn't make that need clear when offering this for pre-order.

Sum-up: Got a great computer? Enjoy the game! For the rest of us? Enjoy Tropico 4. Last time you get my money, Kalypso.

requirements stated right there. DX11 required and minimum card requirement listed. If you have a card older than those models you should have figured it out. The minimum specs were always there as well. They were there when I pre-ordered and they're still up there now.

Also technology always keeps on moving. Just quite recently support for XP was dropped, meaning no DX9 games from now on. DX10 will follow shortly, especially having in mind that DX12 will be out soon. It has always been like this. It's not like Kalypso released Tropico 5 as DX11 exclusive the first year that DX11 was out (some campanies do just that).

The issue is not that cards supporting DX11 are available on the market; that's all well and good and logical. The issue is that not everyone has a computer with a card supporting DX11 (or wants/can afford to get a DX11 card), and that those people, like me, have been screwed over by Kalypso. In all honesty, if this DirectX 11 requirement was made clear when pre-orders opened up, I think a lot of people wouldn't be so upset; we'd mostly understand that "Okay, Tropico 5 needs a high-end graphics card. No problem, I'll get it down the road" But instead, Kalypso sold us all $40 games only to say "Trolololol!" when we find out our computers can't run them.

DX11 cards came out 5 years ago. I have a 4 year old card and it runs smoother than Tropico 4.
