The night was cold and filled with screams of desesperation and pain, echoes of countless humans dying in the darkness not knowing what was that creature, but in middle of the madness a ray of hope show up, the clouds that were covering the moon moved letting the moonlight to illuminate the path of salvation. The creature noticed that and with a mighty roar focused his gaze in the traveler and started to rush towards him, the scent of blood covered his mouth and claws as it was ready to continue his rampage until no life could be found in the world but in his frenzy he didn't see the trap that was set... A pit completely swallowed the beast that disappeared in the darkness only leaving behind tremors and painful roars, like the creature was trying to climb so he could survive the imminent end of his life,his might was enough to let him pull his own weight and after hours of restless effort a broken claw appeared in the edge of the abyss allowing him to jump and be free, but fate has no mercy and the sun raised turning the night creature into ashes.
The survivors were few and didn't learn anything from that night... they just learned how pitiful and vulnerable they were.
