The hype is real! Just like when the battlefield MP games were good, minus the graphics.
There is stuttering, as unity games often do, for me. Hopefully they fix that at some point.

This is great! If this sort of game is your preference, or interests you, you'll like it too, even exceeding expectations imo! People new to these kinds of games and who are eager to learn, should like it as well.

Very deep layers of mechanics and well thought out realism features. It's not hard to get into and do well, with a bit of patience. Good idea to do the tutorials and watch some youtube videos. I started the 1st campaign, didn't do great, than restarted once. After that I won the 1st phase, lost the 2nd, then won the 3rd and I'm about to seemly win the 4th, 2 turns left, so I don't find it too difficult. The RNG isn't that bad once you get better at using the proper tactics and strategy. Very much a high risk high reward feel but it's easy to make mistakes and certain things should always be avoided, if able. Like dangerously moving out of cover and/or moving too quickly, for example. Every bit of info has it's use and should be carefully included in your next move/decision. If there is something your unsure of it could be weakening your effectiveness. Personally, I like the auto, no manual save, it punishes you accordingly and gets rid of save scumming. Alot of the consumer complaints, I find imo, are because people aren't considering various factors and/or are unaware of the large amount of info shared and meant by the UI/tooltips/unit cards/icons/popup messages. It's not perfect however and could use some more polish, content, QoL, optimisation and other features, that I'm sure will be eventually added. Runs alright, doesn't seem buggy and overall quite well polished already! Stands out nowadays in a sketchy industry, especially among recent releases.

Cons: Could use UI improvements so info is more streamlined and easy to find. A "next unit/next un-used unit" button is very much needed. You can forget to use units or if your a bit ODC like me, you'll click through your units a few times, often unnecessarily, so you don't miss moving or firing before hitting enter. Bigger and more noticeable color coding, status, unit markers/numbers to see which units have movement left or that are still able to fire is also a want. Would be nice to quickly glance and always know, or "snap camera to unit", to whats left to use or able to still do. Camera isn't bad, but more flexibility like being able to zoom in from directly overhead or full rotation besides the 4 fixed points, would be nice. Sound is spotty, sometimes certain sound effects cut out or don't work. Full mod support or just easy access is always a big plus for me, a WarHammer 40,000 conversion would be a perfect fit for this game.

Its tough but its great! Many deaths and shaking of head.
Sandboxes are the most immersive gameplay design.
Super solid modding community!
A bit clunky controls but you get used to it. Needs UI scaling for resolutions above 1080p.

Im very much impressed! This is adding modpacks/mods/+ new content to the base game and charging for it done right! I hope this gets a trend going... well done devs!!!

It's good, real good

My all-time favorite video game!!! By a long shot!!! My "go to" game!!!

Usually I'am strictly a SP guy, with a few exceptions, but after playing just around 900 hours, I got on Discord and started playing MP, which has increased my enjoyment 10 fold. The game is generally designed with MP in mind however it's probably a good idea to cut your teeth in SP before a foray into the more intelligent, crafty and optimized strategy human opponent games. I've, for sure, had to re-evaluate my MP vs. SP strategy. From my experience, the MP community is the opposite of toxic with an increasing player and new game count.

The depth of strategy and content is unsurpassed by any other game I've come across. Don't let the purposely dated graphics, lack of "hand-holding" and "flashy-ness" fool you. The game more than makes up for it by being focused on magic, combat gameplay and endless nation\pretender creation\building direction. Dev team consists of 2 Swedish guys, so... One of which I share the same last name and spelling, interestingly enough. Watching Youtube videos for the basics and beyond is highly recommended. 3 of note is DasTactic (who got me introduced and interested in the game), GeneralConfusionPlays, and LucidTactics. Definitely a "smart person" niche sort of game.

Also... most important of all... MODS!!! I play SP and MP with a massive content adding compilation called Dominions Enhanced, created by a most distinguished individual by the name of Red Rob. There's also quite a large modding community with mods effecting all aspects of the game from extra maps, nations, total overhauls, and various tweaks and additions.

Just buy it... would ya!!!
