I have supported the game since its Early Access release on Steam, and I am severely disappointed with what the "final product" is. The ONLY part of the game that is on point is the story (or rather, a few stories that happen in the same city).

The game, after "full release" (1.0) still struggles with:
- Performance (it's abysmal, both on DX11 and DX12. Some areas may hit 200fps+, others drop as low as 20fps)
- Graphics (visibility still sucks in some areas, weird lighting bugs are not uncommon, sometimes the game looks blurry for no reason whatsoever)
- AI (flips between being terminator or a garden slug every other patch)
- General polish (bad animation blending, physics bugging out, texture gaps, bugged loadout system, missing texture previews, poor UI/UX choices etc.)
- General clunkiness of most systems (hard to pinpoint one specific issue, but the movement and gameplay FEEL like I'm spearfishing in a tar lake at night while drunk)
- Direction (1.0 is NOT a "complete product", but VOID will try to gaslight you to think otherwise and buy their upcoming DLC. They would also rather work on things like mo-cap and lip-sync rather than fix the core issues that make the game run poorly and impact the gameplay in a negative way)

tl;dr As of 2024/05/12, Modded SWAT 4 is still a much better, smoother and polished experience, and comes at 10% of the cost of whatever this is (or is trying to be).

if you like platformers and puzzle games, you'll likely have a fun time. It's not really my thing though. Regardless, the audio and visuals are pretty good. +0.5 rating for the fact that the game is short. Final verdict: 7.5/10
