The game itself isn't bad, per se. It's graphics are good, the fluidity and so on, however, there's no point in playing. Now, let me explain why: grinding gets you nowhere. Really, i'm not lying, the game runs on a ton of RNGs where, to get even a currency drop you'll have to boost some kind of effect, gained from equiped items, to *have a chance* at droping, and in most cases, you'll end up with a weaker version of what your character could be just so that you'll have the chance to drop something better. A example of that would be a divine orb, one of the in game currency: it's a global drop, any monster may or may not drop one, but let's say drop would be like 0,00001%. For *every* mob. Then, you'll have to boost item rarity on your maps (the endgame mechanic), quantity of drop (so they may drop more items AND amidst those drops a divine may pop up) AND rarity of items on your equipment. As such, the ones really getting that currency are the ones running 400%+ rarity, in a group of five people, or with a build specific to drop and leeching off of others.

Now, mind you, i'm not averse to RNG. World of Warcraft, since classic, Ultima Online, Ragnarok Online, Grand Fantasia, Tree of Savior, Diablo I, II, III and IV, Grim Dawn and Path of Exile I all had such mechanic, and it's okay, however, except for Path of Exile I, all of them had mobs with specific drops, with higher rate of some drops and so on. So, why put it in a global pool? To make you stay in the game due to the grinding, not due to the game itself.

Aside the non-stop grinding that won't get you anywhere, the commerce. The game is heavily foccused on trade, and not through gold like on diablo, but on corruency, orbs, that are found in that global pool of drops. Well, you see, once you get that orb you needed to trade, and get to their site - there's no in game trade function, just like on diablo - you'll see their market is run by bots. Like, seriously, up to the point of flipping prices. Even worse, should a item with the affixes you want show up on a streamer build, with him saying "this build is up to 50 divines", then you can be certain that said build will end up as 200+ divines since said bots will flip every price on those items. And the devs don't have any plan on changing it nor will the bots lower the price. Which leads to the following: if a season runs for long enough, a item that initially was being sold for 5 divines will end up as a 20 divine, since the other players see the bots selling for it and then raise their own prices. That way, making a new character or starting a season ends up being a chore.

The game itself is good, as I said, combat is good, chaotic but good, once you learn boss patterns and get to avoid their OHK, you'll shine, and the graphics are cool. But, in my opinion, those negative aspects outweigh the positive ones. I'm not saying you shouldn't buy, but if you do, take what was said into consideration.

Do not, in any situation, think "Oh, i'll just buy this and that expansion and, if everything goes well, i'll get everything else" cuz that'll come back and bite you. If you're ever going to get any expansion for this game, go for the bundle, cuz you'll have access to the living world seasons, which can't be bought, through steam, separately and, if you get heart of thorns and path of fire, you won't be allowed to buy the bundle anymore, only being able to gift it for someone else. The game itself is pretty amazing, but this, this dumb limitation, just makes no sense. I'd be willing to pay for a package with living world+whatever expansion I need, for it's intended price, but hell no! Anyways, amazing game, if you're ever intent on buying its expansions, go for whatever bundle's up.

This game reminds too much of WoW, back when it first launched. The graphics may be kind of a turn off for a lot of people but really, it's mechanics and gameplay are far too good to not play it. Hands of to the developer for creating such a game, really, one that gives you that nostalgia you had back when playing World of Warcraft and Skyrim in a same tittle.

So, if I were to sum the game as few words possible, it would be "digital edition of D&D board games", 'cause that's exactly the kind of feeling you get when playing. You choose a class, each of them with their quircks, specializations and so on, roll a dice and move X squares, as much as you can move, and draw adventure cards. Events, npcs, followers, enemies, item and prizes, any of those. Really, a really fun game to play with friends.

fun, but don't expect too much, it's a pay to win game with no balancing whatsoever in it's matchs. Not to mention all those afkers and quitters, seriously, put in some ban policy or something cause there's no fun in starting a 5v5 and ending as a 3v5 every few bouts.
