There's a phenomenon in which people enjoy things less and less the better they get at them. It's likely to do with normalising the feeling of success while also being more negatively impacted by the feeling of failure. You get better, and you're harsher on yourself; you lose the ability to enjoy whatever you're doing for what it is. Now stop saying life is beautiful.
