- 25 Years in the making, still uses the same engine as skyrim and fallout
- at least 6 years of active development, still uses the same flawed menu and inventory systems as skyrim and fallout
- first new universe in 25 years, and basically the first universe entirely created from scratch, still you can´t skip the intro to crate a new character you have to do the intro slowly and patiently, as it was in skyrim

So here´s my 5 cents about starfield

It is the most polished game Bethesda has released in years, but that bar hangs so low it doesn´t mean much
there´s lots of bugs, some glitches and the facial expressions and body language leave lots to be desired. None of that is gamebreaking, and I am fairly confident that most of it won´t stay like that. With patches and hotfixes it will be mended.
Graphically it´s not the most beautifull game there is, once again its like skyrim and fallout. Again not really something that makes or breaks a game, but it is nice when a game looks nice.
The voice acting also falls flat most of the time. I don´t fell like I´m talking to a person. It´s more like listening to someone read from a script,
The fact that the game doesn´t support ultrawide (or double wide) monitors, is IMHO unacceptable for a game coming out in 2023. Basically if you are like me playing on a 32:9 monitor you can´t really use the shipbuilder unless you hack the game (litterally I went online to see if there´s a fix, and I found one: first step download ImHex editor and edit the Starfield.exe) because else your cursor is misaligned and you will have trouble selecting and placing ship parts (I haven´t started a settlement yet, but can only inferr that it will have similar problems)
The weapons and handling of said weapons is an improvement over skyrim and fallout, but with the removal of VATS (or by not including something similar) this RPG is basically a FPS in a RPG costume. It´s more something of a looter shooter like Borderlands than an RPG.

The game feels like someone took Skyrim, bought some new clothes and put some makeup on it and presents it like it´s a totally different game. I know it´s not how it works, but the analogy is a custom map made in the WarCraft 3 map Editor where WarCraft 3 is the equivalent of Skyrim. Still if you are making a new game from scratch and you have spent 25 years on it, maybe a new approach would have been helpful.

Maybe in time and with lots of mods the game will be something, but as it is I cannot recommend it

Nothing beats the classic. As far as strategy games are concerned, this is the absolute nuber one. Why not CIv6 one might ask? Well it will be the number one once it has it´s own Vox Populi

But for the time beeing, there´s nothing even close to the king of strategy games
