Waiting for this game in ages, but sadly so far it's just a disappointment.

1- They release a game even without online (they said last minute problems) instead to delay it a bit and then release it complete.
2- The characters are copypastes, only have one move different from the others, unacceptable.
DDgaiden is an incredible example on how the 360° differences between characters make a game good, replayability and fun.
3- Three I say THREE (3) enemy types for the entire game
4- Mediocre, and price insanely too high for what you receive
4- Perhaps superior only to G.I.Joe Wotc, which is really terrible.

Looking at this game it makes me think of a basic laziness, I don't want to believe that it is not known that these factors are fundamental for this type of games.
Look at Mayhem Brawler 2 development, check out their news...that is the true passion in wanting to create something good in every detail. Just for example.

And anyway, it's the first time I've seen a game like this released without online, officially being part of the package.
And that really bothered me.

I will update my review after the "very soon" patch which should fix many things.

UPDATE : The patch came out and added online play BUT:
- You cant create as a host your own lobby
- At moment multiplayer is only for 2 players ...
- You can only click on search button and the game match you with another player (prepare to wait for long time)
- You can invite a friend

Do yourself a Christmas present and go play TMNT Shredder's Revenge, or DD Gaiden, or Mayhem Brawler, and forget this expensive crap.

The game has EVERYTHING you would expect from Ratchet and Clank.

- Excellent graphics
- Perfect gameplay
- Classic humor
- Everything is absolutely perfect
- There is absolutely NOTHING missing

BUT

There is only ONE THING that has stuck in my head after all ...

THE GAME IS SHOCKINGLY SHORT !!!!
Try for trust.

Fun and enjoyable game.

Cant, and I repeat CANT wait to play THE JOKER when he join the squad at Season 1 start.

Other playable villains join up every season.

Certainly not one of the best top-down roguelikes on Steam, but at the same time its in a good level in many aspects.
The gunplay is less frenetic than others, but it is precise and the controls respond very well.
There aren't many skills to "cook" and it is possible to mix the two skill type to create interesting builds, depending on the challenge you want to create in the character itself, i.e. lots of axolotls to find and grow up.
The weapons but above all the objects are a lot and obviously make each run different from the other.
With the latest update they added the ability to change different difficulty parameters before entering.
The game is fun and hooked me straight away.
Once a month it is regularly updated with new weapons, items, biomes, axolittles and much more.
And this is a great thing.
Is it worth your time? I can recommend to try it.

It would be obvious to talk about nostalgia, because the whole world of Double Dragon IS nostalgia.
But here we find, in addition to Billy and Jimmy, 11 other playable characters, each with their multiple moves and abilities, advantages and weaknesses.
I have always hoped one day to be able to massacre enemies with MG Willy's machine gun... to make them bleed with Linda's whip... to destroy them with Burnov... to crush them with Chin Tai Mei's bastons... to throw them for the whole screen with Abobo !

AND FINALLY I CAN !!!

For the brawler part, the game is technically really really good, hitting is satisfying, with excellent attention to details, which are what make the difference between MEH <--> FUN
In addition, each run is different from the other through upgrades and roguelike elements that radically change the experience.

Probably (definitely in my opinion) the best DD ever.
From all point of views.

A very enjoyable 7,5/10 game.
It runs perfectly on all settings maxed out and is very well optimised
Obviously we're not talking about awesome graphics, but the whole thing is simple and clean
The story is also quite interesting because it is presented in the right way and stimulates to continue
The controls are precise, the gunplay is enjoyable and that's what counts.
I really appreciated that it's not sold at a high price, and believe me there are plenty of other similar games that cost much high and are not even worth half as much as this Scars Above.
Simply a good game that deserves to be played.

If you like old-style hack & slash, you can't miss this one.

Graphically delightful. Perhaps it deserves a little more optimization, but nothing annoying: the graphic settings offer a wide choice with the addition of DLSS which, if used, does not reveal the slightest difference with an excellent implementation.
Very good combat system, you will fight in symbiosis with your sister's soul who has a ton of upgrades (attack, defense, aura and super moves) and will also take care of parrying and slowing down enemy attacks as well as attacking.
the primary weapon is a sword that can be upgraded with many alternate moves as well as all other "secondary" weapons that can be combined together in fights.
There's a lot of variety in enemies even though the game isn't a souls-like, but the boss battles are challenging anyway. And often they are…big bosses.
At the end of the levels your exploits will be evaluated in great detail, from iron to platinum.
The game offers a long story that will grab you from start to finish.

Really a pleasant surprise between many mediocre titles in a category that I personally love.
Give it a chance and you certainly won't regret it.
Sometimes in the fights I had the same cooperative feelings that I had with Kratos and his son in God of War :))

Just choose and survive well as possible.
Tons of trinkets/weapons/upgrades in the middle waves.
One of the firsts pure survival-game on steam.

And its fun. U cant miss it if you like these games.

An awesome port, like all recent PS titles on steam. But this ... is the state of art.
Everything is near the perfection.

The thing is:
All maxed out on super, all RT options to max, NO DLSS at 4k and the game maintains a stable 60fps.
Incredible. Great work.

The game? If u like Spiderman you literally need to play it.
But if you like good games you literally need to play it.
You refuse to play as Spidey? You really need to play it.

Lets begin with 2 words: this is a wonderful game.
Technically, is the exact opposite of what Marvel's Avengers was when it came out.
It is totally bug free, polished and it runs perfectly smooth.
The story will keep you interested from start to finish, lots of really funny constant dialogues that never lapse into banality.
Graphically it is something incredible. The dynamic lights are masterfully implemented and make everything compact and realistic, the textures are on the highest details level, like Marvel's Avengers, probably also better. Beyond the next gen.

Ray-tracing effects are present throughout the whole game and can be enjoyed in their full beauty.
Played with every single graphics option set to max, with DLSS off, ray tracing on ultra + transparency on, resolution 4k with a solid 60 fps also in the scene with more effects on screen.
However, any PC, even the less performing ones, will be able to play it without any problems with very good graphics compromises, lowering something here and there.

This game is absolutely recommended not only for those who like marvel, but for anyone who wants to play a fantastic single player experience.
If this is what you are looking for, the game is worth every penny.
You deserve to enjoy it from start to finish.
