The weakest entry of the whole series but it's not really a bad game, just really flawed and lackluster in comparison to the first two.

The gameplay is fun with the changes they made with this new addition. But it's bogged down by the awful story and structure.
While enemies in general seem to be descent with some annoying exceptions, the bosses are extremely lackluster if not outright failures of game design with the only exception being nightmare Ryu, that was pretty good.

Overall I'd recommend on discount, but since the game is generally cheap already I recommend that you play it, just be aware of some cringe inducing story and underwhelming gameplay sections.

I've played this game for a very long time.
Casually, intermediately, to a high level and to some extent professionally.

I both love and hate this game. But more so love.

The game isn't perfect, there's plenty of issues from the wonky netcode (Granted it's been improved since launch but it can be much better), lackluster balancing, missing single player modes/content from the previous games, lobbies being underwhelming, long load times, and somewhat lackluster story mode despite having great moments here and there.

But the core game is magical, neutral interactions, mind games, the character variety, expression, movelist size. They're all still great, mixed in with the 3D movement it makes Tekken a one of a kind and Tekken 7 continues that trend. To some it's dumbed down, but I would say accessible is the right word. Much easier to get into than the previous games, and much more exciting to watch.

Maybe I'll hop back into the game in the future to revisit, but after nearly 7 years of playing this game I'm ready to move onto Tekken 8.
