Okay so.

Yes I'm barely a handful of missions in, but as someone who's beaten Enemy Within countless times and has sunk HUNDREDS of hours into the original UFO defence, this game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ abominable.

Like, I get what they were going for with stealth and ambushes and guerilla warfare, but it just doesn't work? The engine isn't built for it. Heck, the FRANCHISE isn't built for it. It feels thematically so FORCED that I just do. not. care.

I also wasn't sure if I was missing something, so I TRAWLED the wiki and no, no I wasn't. This is literally the bits of Enemy Within that worked least well thrown into the limelight and made the centerpiece of the gameplay.

Also it requires installing 2k's dedicated launcher, which is a sin immediately worthy of uninstallation.

Oh my god if this isn't one of the absolute worst racing games I've ever had the misfortune of trying. Handling manages to entirely miss the simcade middle ground it was looking for, perspective of speed is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out, campaign is absolutely hideously pieced together, and... yeah. Steaming pile of trainwreck garbage. 2/10.

THIS. THIS is Dark Souls. Not that pretender "Three", not that hippie "Elden Ring", and certainly not that punk "Bloodborne". THIS is Dark Souls.

I exclusively recommend this if you are of a particular mindset and of particular taste. This is a love letter to the single most infuriating style of racer in video gaming history. It's beautifully done, even with options to emulate all the worst bits of PS1 gaming.

From what I've played so far, this is *IT*. This is THE GAME. A soft survival experience with sufficiently satisfying combat, cool building mechanics, a STUNNING art style and soundtrack, and a viking theme to boot. Beautiful.

Oblivion is the awkward middle child sitting between Morrowind and Skyrim. It is DEEPLY flawed, in many ways to a degree that is hard to defend. But it's also just so charming. The characters you meet and the questlines you pursue paint a colourful world that puts it's younger sibling Skyrim to absolute SHAME.

Look, go in with your eyes open. This is NOT a polished product, even by 2006 standards. It's held together with spit and bubblegum. But it is beautiful in it's way, and is an experience well worth having if you're open to it.

Genuinely the most complete TW game I've played. It's missing online campaign in the way the modern TW games have, which is a shame, but taken as a SP experience it's still my favourite. Yes, it's broken as all hell and exploits make everything hilarious, but I LIKE that. It's nostalgic. Besides, you can always just...not? Like, you could just NOT powerstack peasants and rely on autoresolve? You could always just NOT powerstack light cavalry and rely on immediately routing the enemy? You could always just NOT exploit Wardogs respawning as long as their handlers survive for an immortal army?

Eh, who am I kidding. Of course you can't NOT do those things. They're hilarious.

Small stress, Big hard, Many fun.

I think Gloomhaven genuinely functions better as a video game. There's just too much set up and rule tracking on the table for it to really flow right.

Plus, this execution is spot on. The animations, UI, controller support (in case you want to play on the living room sofa)... It's so well done. So well done.

20 hours in. I expect that to increase a hilarious amount.

Spectacular co-op platformer in which you may or may not be forced into lifelong therapy for your overwhelming guilt at the brutal and slow murder of a friendly baby elephant.

I love this game. It's pretty much peak arcade racer, and arguably the greatest thing Disney ever produced.

This port SUCKS.

Controller support? Nah. Configurable controls? Only after the tutorial. Configurable resolution? Only after the tutorial. Tutorial? Requires your keyboard to have a right ctrl key to trigger power plays. What's that, my laptop doesn't? Huh, welcome to softlock.

And tbf, this game has aged. The painfully obvious rubber banding, the game modes that just aren't fun to play, unskippable cutscenes...

BUT the graphics are beautiful (Especially for 2010) and the concept is genuinely a lot of fun.

The game is a classic. This port is not.
