Worked great and was really fun to play on the first day, but following that multiplayer really just didn't want to function at all. We've tried to get games running and occasionally we can even manage a connection, but I and my friend have both been disconnected which is completely unfix-able.

If you are buying this for the online co-op, I urge you to wait until a patch comes out where it works.

Hours of fun, and a wonderfully repeatable game loop, Loop hero takes in mild upgrades and mixes them with large build changes and world modification to allow you, the player, to improve in strategy and synergy moreso than a boring stat boost as the game progresses. Simply relying on stat boosts alone is not enough to beat the various bosses within this game and experimenting with placement of tiles and selection of gear is key to min-maxing your chosen hero. Playing older bosses to farm up resources to build up your town is still very enjoyable and the story is quite interesting.

9.5/10 only because I would have liked to see a bit more clarity on a few of the aspects, mainly "Hero Strength" and other things. Adding an option to see more of the hidden stats easier would be appreciated.

There are a few bugs, as of now I've run into crashes at random points, sound recursion when taking the elite lightning mageseeker ability, enemy AI getting stuck in corners, and the revive mechanic not working. Aside from that, the game is very fun and cool for those invested in the LoL/Runeterra lore. The story is not super complex, but the arc of sylas is realistic if not a little annoying at times considering some of the purely revenge driven choices he makes through the first 50% of the game. The side characters help to flesh him out more and are all useful to the story.

Overall, the game is a firm 8/10, best fight by far the Garen rematch. One of the best fights I've had in any game hands down.

This game is very fun, but I will say that it has a lot of elements that just make it feel empty.
Frankly getting to the cave and beating the game there just ends with you looking down a tunnel, when I beat the game on my first run ever and was presented with that ending, my thoughts were just "that's it?". I understand that this is not a full release, so the lack of content may very well be made up in the future, but that is the key phrase here, "in the future". Buy this game if you are intrigued by both the concept *and* the game play that you see, but be prepared for pretty consistent repetitiveness in enemy encounters and map design which is so cookie cutter, you feel like you're not only replaying the game, but living in the same moment.

However: There are many thing that could make this game amazing, and I will list my ideas here:
1. Changing the map to feel less like a Slay the Spire direct copy.
- The map makes the adventure seem bland and without much excitement. By making the map less basic and maybe adding an actual 2-D forest to trek through via your normal navigation patterns, that would make it much more immersive. Additionally, add more variants of spaces or locations, seeing exclusively the Boss, Floor boss, Enemy, and question mark spaces make me exclusively pick the question mark since a lot of the games charm and interesting features are only contained in those random encounters. Branching it off into different types of mystery encounters or sub-genres with colourful markers would allow for more skill expression whilst awarding player knowledge and strategy.

2. The Orbs are amazing, but it would be cool to see us actually charge up the attack whilst the ball is knocking down pegs.
- By making the Peglin charge up an attack depending on how many pegs and how high the attack value will be (with variations depending on if it's like, a projectile or magic attack etc.), I imagine it will look a lot more appealing and interesting. Giving enemies some sort of idle animation akin to a 2-D fighter would also add a charm and make them seem less cookie cutter.

3. Finally, add another area(s)
- I've seen that they are planning to add an optional boss at the end of the cave with a shorter room of encounters and a *very* difficult fight, but that addition could even be made AFTER the third place with another buffer area in between and maybe a bit of balance tweaking to allow the user to continue playing through all 5 locations now, with 5 being the optional challenge area. My runs at the moment tend to either be extraordinarily overpowered or spectacularly awful, so by editing the balance and adding another full area between the cave and challenge, you can slow the pacing whilst making runs more consistent in power rather than a firm high and low roll.

Thank you for reading my review, note that it is only not recommended in its current state, if there's one thing this game has in spades, it's potential. I look forward to seeing if they implement these options or expand the game to mod developers to potentially do these things themselves.

This is a game that, while cheap, is thoroughly addicting and fun. The many unlockables are stuck behind various objectives that require you to play different characters or go in certain directions until you collect them all. Having played 6.6 hours so far and unlocked a fair amount of content, I still feel like there is so much more to find, build, and unlock. 10/10 especially at the price point of $3.

This game improves upon its predecessor in just about every way imaginable, it looks great and all of the controls are much tighter. The challenge curve also allows for more seasoned or hardcore players to push themselves while more casual players can just accrue money over time to slowly increase their skill and base stats to overcome whatever hurdle they are stuck on. Overall, just an amazing game from amazing developers.
