The beginning of the game is a little hard, and there are a COUPLE small difficulty... - uh- bank, molehill, hillock... but the game is generally pretty easy on the standard difficulties (easy, normal, hard, very hard). there are custom difficulties you can change to make the game harder however. Honestly its pretty good. You could fix the difficulty problem by having the necrons move away from your units to force them to melee. the big thing that makes the game easy is the orb that makes your guys untargetable. you can spend as long as you need setting up as long as you dont attack. easy fix. just make the necrons walk right by your dudes attack range so they auto attack as they walk by. If I could change one thing though I would make it so servitors were a little better or maybe give a ranged unit instead of the weak melee free servitor. hell give the servitor an aoe or maybe a one square range... it needs it. its nit picky though because as mentioned the only hard part is early on and this change would make it way easier. don't take my word for it though, the game goes on sale frequent enough, just wait for a sale and get the game yourself so you can try it. solid 8.5 out of ten game.

The game doesnt work. go ahead try the map tutorial with a controller I dare you. the brilliant people in charge of making the controles tell you to use the d pad to move the selection to the "button" at the top left of the screen. a task you cant do with the d pad. the very next part of the tutorial see you trying to do something with the right joystick but I cant figure it out, it says to move the right joystick to select something but moving the right joystick does literally nothing. Im glad they will probably literally never fix it so that more people can have fun fighting with the controles like me. I cant even get my money back because the devs are greedy and didnt want to spend a second testing the tutorials to their game. I bet you its not even a real button. god I hate these devs. I legit hope they spend all their money and time making this game and it stops selling and they go bankrupt.

I wish it had controller support. TL3 has controller support. The console versions have controller support. do you think it would be worth their time to put controller support on the strongest title in their series IMO? Haha no. so I have to put a no on the recommended because you can just get this game on play station or xbox or hell even switch and you have controller support.

the game mechanics are competent enough, character customization is in depth, and there are plenty of ways to spice up gameplay with variety. my only issue with the game is the english translation is rough. im sure the story would be really good but the lackluster translation makes it kind of hard to read. also delayed death is a really bad skill to give your enemies. instant death sucks and makes losses feel like a cop out when the opponent already has 40 units for every one that you have. seriously it needs to be removed or nerf it so that it can only affect units once your unit number is smaller than the enemies. still a good game though. solid 6/10 or 7/10. plus princess cat girl is hot.

The Elephant: I assume when Disgaea 7 comes out the price will go down marginally... but its gonna be fairly pricey for a while (think Disgaea 5 and how its still rather pricey).

Ignoring the price (which I do think is a tad high given that for the most part its same old Disgaea with a new story dlc (the game is effectively a story pack)... the game is good enough on its own. The characters are generally likable and the DLC characters were free for me (I think?). It has its typical disgaea humor and I do appreciate that you can hit even higher levels than 9999 (I almost feel like that makes more content somehow). The DLC shop DOES sell bonus that you can buy if you want... but why would you? thats kind of the point of a disgaea game... is the grind... and this one especially focuses on getting stronger. The graphics are three dimentional now... but not bad. hopefully NIS doesnt pull a pokemon and never update the sprites idle animations and such.

TLDR: If price is bothering you wait till they have a sale... otherwise the game is fine enough for the price.

its a good game but honestly dont call it a 4x game. sure you can try to expand but as soon as you do the computer will attack you with fleets you cant deal with. I guess the only real way to play the game is to take your first planet, find a way to build a 6k fleet power fleet within five years, and go take someone elses capital. it plays like a jenky sins of a solar empire because that game also focused around early game aggression... but that game also had much better combat controls than send your fleet in and hope its stronger. stellaris feels like a bunch of good ideas conflicting in the worst way. the devs mean well but lets be real here... theres no reason to nerf playing wide such that its basically unplayable unless you plan on stealing someone elses capital. Thats where the biggest problem of this game is. It feels like the developers want you to play tall (like one planet for 60 years) and favor gameplay that includes building a massive fleet before year 10. what reason would I have to build a 5k fleet early on and leave it sitting around? I feel like the game needs to be balanced so that its much harder to power through stations (like buff the weapons modules so that people have reasons to build them instead of anchariges). also, seriously, the devs need to get off this stuipid playing tall kick. You wouldnt expect gamefreak to nerf all of pokemon because like 1 fan out of 3000 wants to do a nuzlock run. you wouldnt expect blizzard to nerf your character in diablo because 1 fan out of 3000 wants to play hardcore. playing tall is a challenging way to play... why are we nerfing playing wide? Im refering to the sprawl cap that you cant change under any circumstance that drastically slows down game play when you are trying to play wide. that all being said its still a great game, however I would almost argue its just a worse sins of a solar empire. its cool that you can design your own race but they seem to be focusing on early game aggression to much and I feel you can put a hard limit on this by both max ranging the ships (like they did in another one of their four x games called sword of the stars) and by making space stations better (the enemy cant just run past them and the modules need to give way better firepower). I particularly like the space station buffs because its easier to control... you can add more small weapons to the modules that do like next to nothing vs bigger ships but quite a bit of damage to smaller ships and you can change the cost of the modules so that they are more of an investment. Im changing my review because you have to form up a vassel chain in order to win. so instead of taking planets for yourself and expanding for yourself you can go ahead and play one planet simulator and have the ai deal with all the problems for you. dont like that? cool get punished for taking a bunch of planets and getting a bunch of population so that you cant tech up and keep up with anyone else. like playing against an ai that cheats money to itself but also gets to have all the tech because its on one world? yeah thats always fun.
