Absolute must-buy for any fan of The Expanse!
I spent like 30 minutes just doing EVA around the Artemis.

Incredibly buggy on non-Quest HMDs. I don't think they did much testing, if at all, on those HMDs.

Gripping is absolutely awful on Index because you NEED to use triggers as well as grip for everything, including grabbing a pistol mag from your inventory.

I got to a point where you are supposed to ride a cart with a turret, but turns out there's an Index-specific bug that makes this section completely impossible to do without rebinding the controls (which you can't do in SteamVR). I managed to get it to move, but when it did my VR body started to ragdoll and I didn't last long until I had to take off my headset. It was nauseating, even with hundreds of roomscale VR experience.

The good:

David Belle is in the game

He told me to have fun, and I'm having fun.

Runs pretty good, feels like the spec requirements mostly matches.

Parkour "stickiness" from promotional videos is nowhere to be seen (on Hard difficulty)

Looks really good with raytracing (which also isn't super heavy)

Bad things:

TAA can't be disabled (and of course causes ghosting)

Most parkour skills are locked (safety roll, tic tac, wallrun, etc.)

No options for textures

Most skill keybinds are unchangable

Ray traced reflections don't reflect that much

If you have Global Illumination enabled (which you should if your GPU can handle it), you have to spam "Q" to see ANYTHING in the first hour-ish of gameplay because it's completely dark (but looks soooooooooo good)

Since EA wanted all their Star Wars games to be accessible to everyone (see: Battlefront reboot and Squadrons), I did NOT expect this game to be as difficult as it turned out to be. It's brutal at times and boy am I glad I explored enough of the planets to get some extra stims because I definitely needed them.

Excellent game that I really hope gets a sequel, this is the closest thing we'll get to the Jedi Knight games.

The core gameplay is really great, but I am NOT going to recommend it for the simple fact that the whole progression system is so mindnumbingly stupid that whether or not you care about it, it's going to affect your enjoyment.

The only way to progress is through challenges, and only 3 challenges can be active at once (you can't choose which ones either). You don't get any bonus points for winning or playing the objective (unless the challenge specifically says so), so you have games that are horribly balanced because players are not bothering with the objective at all.

I had a game of BTB where, I kid you not, 6 people on one team was just camping the Wasp spawn because they all needed that challenge to progress, leaving 2 players to play the actual game.

Another amazingly fun immersive sim from Arkane Studios, if you liked Dishonored or Prey (or both!) then this is a must buy.

Since people with 3080Tis are making bad reviews due to their performance an have caused a "everyone has unplayable performance" opinion, these are my specs and performance:

Ryzen 2700X
RTX 3080
20GB DDR4
1440p
Averaging 90FPS at max settings (TAA and raytracing OFF, TAA because I hate it, RT because it's just for shadows)

Performance is not great but not terrible, some systems gets perfectly fine performance while others with even better specs can't get a playable experience at all. You can look at benchmarks all day long, but you don't really know if it will run on your system or not until you've tried it yourself, so that's a bit of a gamble. It's kind of how Dishonored 2 was at launch but way better performance for the unlucky ones,

If you have above minimum specs, and excited for the game, then I'd say buy it and get through the tutorial level and then see what performance you get in Updaam (you will get worst performance taking the route to the right, I found). That's a good benchmark area.

The game is using multithreading pretty much perfectly, I expected my 2700X to bottleneck the hell out of my 3080, but since it has 16 threads it was never at a significantly high usage (around 30-40% on all cores).
