I accidentally became the camp c*m receptacle as a Gnome Druid.
10/10 would recommend.
Only had to play 15 hours and actually choosing to be Good or Evil to actually get into it.

this game ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up, and (as a fan of literally every installment of the franchise) I can say this holds up. My only regret is that it is not episodic, meaning I did lose out on the anticipation and hype of waiting for a new episode to be released, and subsequently planning my day around playing it ASAP.
How does it compare the the first one?: Well, if I am being honest, since the first was my first dive into the type of story telling the franchise is centered around, it's hard to compete. But on the other hand, while my friends didn't care about LiS:2, while I loved it, so maybe I just love the games.

One improvement from this game compared to the first is in my opinion is that this game doesn't present the idea of a male romantic partner, and then immediately shoe-horn in the ending of "being implied lesbian or save town." (Like any fans of the first game would know, THEY OBVIOUSLY set up Warren as the Ryan((fight me on this, i stg)), of the first game, just to drop it because they had decided to go a different way with it, which is fine, but as a *closeted* bisexual male, i found kinda irksome, like why present an option if there wasn't any follow through?). IN THIS GAME: Yeah, you can choose to be with Steph or Ryan, and that doesn't really matter in the game while you play that much, just in the story which is 90% of the game honestly. Which is GREAT. These options allowed me to feel things, and I found myself debating on how to respond to choices more than the first game. I GENUINELY felt some sort of difficulty in making some choices which is leagues better than the first game (spoilers: if you didn't chose Chloe over the town on your first run through, either A) I do not believe you or B) You are the most logical and least emotional person I ever come across in my life. All just my opinion btw)

In the end, YES you should try this game (haven't played steph's story yet, so hold onto that). If like me you are a fan of the franchise and the stories they tell, just know that even if you disagree with EVERYTHING ELSE I HAVE SAID SO FAR, this game will not disappoint you as far as expectations go, the only thing I KNOW MORE PEOPLE WILL FEEL IS the sadness of missing the anticipation of awaiting a new episode.

♥♥♥♥ ME, i don't see myself replaying JUST BECAUSE I want to let it sit for a LOOOONG time.

It's very short, I only played 9ish hours because: 1)Wanted to get all the achievements (2 are bugged, the Get Richer will randomly not unlock for some people, and while the Infinite achievement itself is not bugged, the skin you unlock for completing Hell difficulty and getting it is.)

What I liked: Game-play felt pretty good when I got the hang of it, story was passable but could definitely use some expansion on it. Game does have Shadow Warrior type vibes.

What I didn't care about either way: The fact that there is skins, for the weapons was fine, but for the character that we see like what? 10% of the game? I mean whatever I guess.

What I didn't like: Length. If you play this game the way it seems to be designed to be, it wont take you too long to finish on any difficulty, and in fact if there was shorter loading screens and skip-able cut-scenes, I promise you that speed runs of this game could be as low as 15 minutes. The grappling could have been cool, but it's more of just a tool to progress rather than and interesting mechanic (imagine if you could've grappled to higher up spots to take up a sniper position, nope instead its just so you can get over wall 2 after using it to get over wall 1 because that's how the game was designed.) Enemy density was okay, but I personally would've like for there to be more. The stealth section was fine, but if you get spotted it sometimes means you'll be going back to the last checkpoint, even though it does say they changed it so you can possibly take down the enemies before they kill you (they can almost 1 shot you on god,) if you get spotted in the wrong area, some enemies i noticed would never leave the alerted state (looking at you two, "Guy whose taking over" and "I'm sleepy going to take a nap") I mentioned not caring about the skins really and I don't but WHY? WHY JIGGLE PHYSICS IN AN FPS? Am i meant to sit in the skins menu and shake her around or something? WHO is this FOR?

My background: I played the demo way back, and it was promising (short but it was a demo so that's just how it be) It may have been a while since I played the demo, but I didn't recognize anything from the demo in the final game. Which yeah, that can happen and does often happen but I felt that I enjoyed what the demo had more than what the final game had. That's just my opinion though.

Final thoughts: It was fine, but frankly I can't recommend this to anyone at this point until a few things get added: 1) A continuation, and 2) Some sort of arena/zombies type mode where you can just hack-n-slash(-n-shoot) as long as you feel like, because the combat IS good, just not good enough for me to spend any longer playing, and sitting through cut-scenes/loading screens for. If you also played the demo and received it for free, go ahead and try it, you might as well, and hell if you disagree, feel free to let me know that you do and on what you disagree with.

The game was way shorter than I thought it would be and frankly I don't think anyone that cares about what they spend their money on should get this until something gets added. If something of substance does get added, I'll gladly change my review.
