How they do it :
1. The link pasted by unknown may be someone's steam profile or trading website page etc. But most important thing is that " U can see you are logged out, and hence u try to login naturally " that is their motive.
3. If you enter login password and email verification code , it will be stolen by his website and he will login and change password and email instantly. And there after you don't have any control over your account.

Tips to avoid or cross check the link:
1. Open the link given by someone u wanna trade with.
2. If u notice that the steam is logged out, Don't enter password now.
3. Open your own profile page, for example mine is http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/sinjdota
4. If this page is logged in properly and at the same time the link given by others is logged out, It must be for scamming.. never enter password because " It is the only way you will loose your inventory full of items and your account with high lvl and your steam wallet as well "

Solution if account is stolen already :

As soon as u came to know your account is stolen do these things :
1. take snapshots of the trade page and chat where he posted link.
2. go to steamrep.com and enter the scammers id and copy the details

3. create steam support account, https://support.steampowered.com/
4. Place a question / query under the category of stolen account and provide necessary data and SNAPSHOTS, TIME and DATE at which he stole password, CD Key should be mentioned. Explain clearly what happened to steam support in good english.
5. Steam support will work on it and save ur ass (only once) for sure. If you provide proper details. They may reply for your message within 4 or 5 days. So don't post your complaint many times, they will save your account and items for sure... U just need to wait :)

Also don't respond to any posts of any groups containing links like Immortal items or courier Giveaway etc.
