So, this is a yes and no to the question of "Would you recommend this game to other players". The reason being is that it's not a true sequel to the first Dragon's Dogma. I will be doing different categories of the things that I liked, and didn't like, as well as putting explanations for them.

Likes:

1. I loved the combat.

It felt fairly close to the first game's combat, but with the few changes they brought to it. You can only have one weapon for each vocation.

(Spoiler) Unless you got the secret vocation that let's you equip any armor and weapon you want, with the limiter being the 4 weapon skills you have.

2. The story was actually pretty decent.

I won't spoil anything here, but I thought it was a fairly good story. Unlike some other reviewers, It seemed rather fleshed out and made sense.

3. The graphics are really good, in my opinion.

I have a fairly high-mid range to low-high range computer. The only issue was the terrible stuttering when in towns. Capcom has said they know what the issue is as of the writing of this review. It was CPU issues for NPC's in towns.

4. I loved the ending.

(Spoiler) The ending was great, and I loved the secret ending you can start, but the fact that Capcom didn't put in an Everfall thing, or something else that is repeatable and for farming is a bit of let down. The secret ending's bosses were very unique and looked beautiful. Just wished they had done something similar to Everfall, or something new that is repeatable.

5. The world.

The world is ABSOLUTELY HUGE. The first game was fairly large for what it was, base game, and then they fleshed it out with Bitter Black Isle, but this game is a good 3-4x the size of the first one. Just wish they had fleshed it out more with an Everfall-esque kind of "endgame".

Dislikes:

1. The constant crashing and massive stutter in towns.

Like it says, I crashed a lot. The stutter in towns really ruined my immersion and made my eyes hurt after being used to 130+ FPS in most other games I've played. Hope that, if they do add any DLC to the game, that they fix those two main issues.

2. The story. (Only the parts I'm nit picking)

As I said above, the story was good, but it was missing some things that I liked from the first one. They didn't really try to make this game a true sequel to Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen.

(Spoiler) They basically scrapped the whole first game, and went with a whole different story. I'd agree with some other reviewers and say that the "final" boss, Grigori, was barely in the game, and that's fairly disappointing. However, I do know that with the way they had the ending of the first game, even I can't find much more story to put in to a sequel to continue that story. The first game was basically just an endless loop of you beating the game, doing Everfall, then going to a place, that I can only call "heaven" or an omnipotence plain, kill the "God" guy, who is actually you, then sit in the chair, and kill yourself with the Godsbane sword. It was kinda funny and a cool concept. Just an infinite loop where you cause yourself to fall, and live the same life over and over again. Kinda wish they had done something similar to that concept with this new game.

3. No real endgame or repeatability.

(Spoiler) You basically just do the same thing you did in the first game. Become arisen, only you've lost your memories, help people, kill a bunch of smaller monsters and mini-bosses, get stronger, kill the dragon that stole your heart. Then, you go Everfall, farm for loot, and kill try to kill the Ur-Dragon to get the best gear in the game. The big differences are, no Everfall, you don't face yourself as a kind of boss, but you get a secret "true ending" instead. Kind of a let down with that Capcom. Unless New Game + has something extra, I'm probably not going to play this game more than twice. There's not a really a point if there isn't something new in it. I'll pick it back up, if they add a DLC or something, but until then, this a "play twice, move on" kind of game right now.

Overall, the game felt fairly solid. It looks really good, the combat is pretty close the first game, and the story, while not at all the same, was enjoyable enough to keep me playing for over 40 hours to beat it.

My final rating? 7/10

Might get bumped up or down depending on my second playthrough, or any DLC they might decide to drop for it.

I've only been playing for 12 hours at the time of this, and the game is great. There are some glitches here and there, but they haven't been game-breaking for me yet. I'm only on the second main area in the desert. Trying to explore all the areas. Overall so far a good game. Gun play is pretty good, the visuals are amazing, the detail in the facial features is top notch, and the game run pretty well. I can't wait to get into the DLC's as well to get more story on some of the side characters.
