I cut a tree and while the trunk falls it hits me in the neck, takes 1 armour + 1/4 health and i die. I spawn in a cannibal village where they're listening to 2 different techno songs from 2 different cassette players simultaneously. I free myself, get hit in the head with a bone, die again. 10/10

Writing this review at 36 hours in. If you've ever dreamed of making your story come to life and are patient enough to learn an entry level 3d software this is definitely for you.
Valve gives you the chance to use characters that already have their own personalities, it gives you (only one type of) lighting, cameras and THE WORKSHOP. All you need to do is spend a couple of hours watching tutorials before even opening the software and then a couple more (of the same tutorials again) while practicing them on your own project. Combine this with constant googling ("why does this button not work sfm") and you're good to go.
In 36 hours I managed to light up a whole portion of an unlit map, I placed part of the characters, created 4 seconds of rough animation and learned stuff that will prove helpful in the near future. Now compare 36 h with the time you've spent in your most beloved game and think what you could've achieved if you swapped these.
