Please don't be put of by this games rep . it does have pretty "janky" combat sure but it also has one of the best story's in the franchises out of the titles i have played so far. It has so many great new characters and a really good villain while also containing by far the most emotional scenes i have seen Kiryu go through . If you like the story and characters of this franchise please don't miss 3 :)

Yakuza is one of those franchises that is just fun to play and let your self switch off while having a laugh doing so. Its got wonderfully over the top action and fun combat with a great story (that is at times pretty sad) to boot. Id recommend playing the prequel Yakuza 0 first though as it will really help you to understand whats going on in the plot if you are new to the franchise but if your not bothered about plot i'd say just jump in and punch away :)

This is my personal game of the year (even though it came out years and years ago XD) . It has hands down one of the best plots out of any JRPG i have ever played perhaps even the best plots i have ever played in a video game ever. The graphics may well be a little aged but the core combat is still very fun and effective (any JRPG fan will be right at home) and when combined with the fantastic music it creates an experience that will be hard for any to forget.

If you are wanting to try more games like it then i would highly suggest trying any other SMT or persona games (SMT 3 is out on switch soon and is another one of my favourites) or if you want something with a bit of different vibe then the dragon quest games are all ways a bit of fun as well
