Such a simple sentence, yet such a heavy impact
The feeling of so many battles you fought, but none you truly won
Adding more and more mental scars, they won't leave you intact

A new day rises, but my bed won't let me leave
Another day brings another hassle
Depression steals motivation like a thief
Makes me the king of my lonely castle

Another day, another me, another mask
In the end I won't even know the real "me"
With every mask it becomes an easier task
I'll just become who you want me to be

Another night, another "victory", another me
The minutes become hours, light goes dark
The seconds crawl by, like leaves falling from a tree
After all is said and done, did I even leave a mark?

I don't want to go to sleep
Even tho I'm always tired and spent
It's just this fleeting feeling I want to keep
Of the single day that just went

Tomorrow will be another battle
But I haven't even recovered of today
I can hear my brain and bones rattle
And surely wish it all would go away...
