Conditional Yes for recommending:

This is a PC port of a mobile GACHA game - for those not familiar with what a Gacha is, it's a term derived from "GACHAPON", or a japanese term for a capsule dispensing machine, where you don't really know what you are getting for your purchase. An easy analogy to draw is opening a pack of Pokemon/MTGO cards and not really knowing what you are getting. For those with experience, this game is VERY similar to Summoners War.

What this means is that - you could, theoretically, spend upwards of thousands of dollars on the game and not get the unit, or "Card" that you want. Keep this in mind when deciding whether or not you want to pick this up. Note that you don't necessarily NEED all the best units to play competitively.

In terms of visuals, this is a phone game - so keep in mind that the graphics won't blow you away.

Pros:

- Can link account to your phone (or your phone account to your PC) meaning you can play on the go

- Heavy emphasis (incentives too) for co-op play with others, which is the norm in MMOs but almost unprecedented, at least in this scale, with a phone game.

- Art style (subjective point) is fairly on point and heavily draws inspiration from Japanese mythology. I'm looking at you, weebs.

- Customizable team builds, I think currently there are 80+ unique units with different skills? It's nothing too impressive but nothing to laugh at either. Each unit has 6 slots that you can put "souls" or unique stat allocations, in to tailor them to your own needs, so a unit can be geared to be tanky or geared for damage - you have control over that.

- PVP/PVE - for those who care about competition, there is a PVP matchmaking system in place. PVE challenges can get very difficult.

Cons:

- Requires HEAVY time and/or money investment to be decent at the game.

- Requires a LOT of grinding

- PVP currently is basically a speed check - the faster team generally wins with the correct composition.

- Rates are 1.2% for SSR (rarest) units. For some this may be prohibitive.

- Only 2 main ways to get new units - through shard collection or summons. Shards for rare units are hard to come by

- Window is NOT resizeable, whereas on facebook gameroom you can play on full screen.

In short, this is a game that you'll likely enjoy if you like grindy, long games where you build up units, or if you're the type to like collecting units (like Pokemon, but less generous?)

CS:GO Review
I remember picking up CS1.6 with my friends way back when I was younger - we all shared a steam account and worked out a schedule for who would be able to log in and play (I think eventually it got banned?) I liked the game a lot and would practice a lot with the scout. I was eventually turned away from the game by people who would be able to consistently shoot you in the head across the map (in large maps where your head would be the size of a pixel) and people who knew where and when you'd show up.

I bought this game because of my friend a year or two ago, but never booted it up to play because the internet connection I had at the time was trash (turns out it's the wifi, but w/e.) When I finally got around to playing it, I was hit by the nostalgia of seeing all the classic maps again; I still had the whole layout of dust in the back of my head, even after a decade. Everything looked so shiny and new, but it was still so familiar - the gunshots, the maps, the getting shot in the head through a wall, getting shot in the head through smoke, getting shot in th- DO SOMETHING ABOUT HACKERS.

It's one thing if the guy gets lucky and lands the shot once, it's another when he goes through the map with a scout and lands headshots on 4 of your teammates back to back. Not recommending until they actually do something about hackers, I shouldn't have to pay an additional fee to play on servers where they actually give a ♥♥♥♥ about their players.

I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.

They took the original concept behind iGunz and Gunz the duel and made it into a proper game this time around. Great. But they left out the things that made iGunz and Gunz: The Duel successful... the "mechanical exploits" or k-style (and its variants)

I was an avid player of Gunz 1 - probably spent a couple thousand hours on it back in the day, so mechanically I thought the controls were clunky and nonresponsive. They took out the only thing that made Gunz unique from other generic shooters - and that is the mobility and skill curve.

Sure, it's a unique concept, and those who have no experience with gunz 1 would likely find the game at least mildly interesting (a few might even get hooked) but there is absolutely nothing with this new version that makes it stand out amongst other superior titles in this genre.

If by any chance they ever decide to make a gunz3, it would be in their best interest, at least in my opinion, to bring back the mechanical exploits, as that made for a much more interesting game with a huge learning curve and diversity in play styles.

Also, would it be possible to bring Gunz 1 to steam? That would be awesome.

tried to get into it, but too hard to. Extremely glitchy, poor map mechanics (the rotating island in chapter 6... I literally cannot walk ON it - checked a walkthrough and the guy has no problem walking on it but when I TRY my character just walks right through the island like it's not there and plummets to his death.)

The concept is great and lots of fun - casting spells can take some getting used to but isn't impossible to get the hang of. Combat can get a bit silly sometimes (wall, bombs, wall, bombs....rinse repeat) but the storyline is very well written.

Doesn't matter how GOOD the storyline and idea is though, if the game is so glitchy you can't even play it (my laptop crashes everytime it tries to load chapter two, my desktop got me to chapter 6, with the rotating platform that can't be stepped on regardless of its alignment...) so disappointing.

What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said. Stay away. It will consume your very being. Your soul. Once, I sat down to play Civ at 9AM in the morning, and when I looked up after a while I noticed that the clock read 10. "Wow, that was a lot of game for a hour!" Too bad it was 10pm.

10/10 Would play again
