I'l start by saying I've only played the DMZ gamemode which is the new version of plunder.. so far game has its problems the same as any game released before it is properly tested npcs sitting in the sky and some crashes but far less than I expected my experience has been mostly bug free.

Gunplay has been done very well and from what I can tell each type of gun has its place.

Weaponsmith has had a massive improvement especially with the new tuning system which technically makes it so you have 10 attachments as you can add additional bonuses to the 5 attachments you have picked provided they aren't mag or laser sight

Equipment I've seen a number of improvements in and I'm happy to say we have a much larger variety that said I am hoping they will improve some of the more useless things... as an example the camera only lasts about 2 minutes which may be double the time the drone lasts but it still makes it totally useless by comparison on dmz, this like many of the other items may be much better balanced on smaller multiplayer maps however and if that is the case we could do with a few tweaks for the dmz mode

Movement has been rebalanced and just like the guns feels allot more realistic.. more its still call of duty but at least it has improved from fort battlefield 2 type janky speed plays

we have cars of may types vans even a hummer that is electric helicopter and a big buyable jeep with a 50cal on top would like to see more

which brings me to the final topic that I have seen over and over in threads the progression system...
now with gunsmith i have no issues its encouraging you to unlock guns fully that you may have otherwise ignored and nudging you into trying different playstyles which is a very good thing however we have a missed opportunity for the loudout system in dmz..

You collect lots of money and items and bring them back guns are the only thing you keep other than 1 current loadout of plate carrier and tacticals, the solution to this lack luster setup is already present as dmz seems to have been balanced with a money system you can go to buy stations and buy guns a jeep plates backpack ext.... just let us buy stuff at the loadout screen and allow us to bring money out of the zone spend it on increased storage for anything you can bring back and buy to go in for infinite replayability

Edit after multiplayer free weekend...
good grief the multiplayer part of the game is totally different and the balance feels terrible... all guns kill u in a few hits regardless of range or weapon type the fast moving high fire rate guns are the only thing that feels viable no thanks...

They added perk streaks to warzone which aren't working.... not sure if im sad they aren't as ghost will break the detection balance entirely I actually do not want them to fix this bugged perk streak.

Perk streaks really aren't the answer to adding in progression and it doesn't reward people who get out with 100k or do multiple contracts its a very strange addition but it is still an addition kind of... even though it didn't work it changed how people play the game when it first came out hope to see more

I haven't completed every aspect of this game or bothered with PVE except for single player or non dedicated gameplay so I can't comment on what its like to play on PVE servers....
Ark is a great game in many ways but it is also plagued with severe balancing and bugs the fact I have played it this long despite these problems should tell you what potential the game has.. and when I say that I am not refering to the Devs they are hands down terrible at balancing aspects of PVP especially and gameplay, resource cost/effectiveness of the item and so on but that isn't important the Devs are great at making new and interesting environments and their ability to create diverse and interesting dinosaurs monsters and the like is unrivalled, The AI is simple but creatures still seem to have a personality and a desire to ruin your life and eat you alive but really what more would you want.

The visuals are awesome the optimisation not so much and the environments feel quite interactive you can't shape your environment like in other sandbox survival titles but its simply not that sort of game, the vanilla building options are very interesting and despite public opinion on what is "overpowered" I think the Devs have really shined when making the Tek Tier... once again not so much when it comes to the resources but thats not what players need the devs to do... when it comes down to it allot of great things about this game was made by the devs and the modders smooth out the unbalance and the Devs were kind enough to make it a very custom made experience as you are able to increase the resource sliders and change all manner of things including how many stats you get per level for each skill for yourself and dinosaurs which is no small thing as that enables you to change important things about the dinosaurs which are core to the gameplay.

I could go on forever but TLDR the devs are bad at balance that is a fact but they are also brilliant at making dinosaurs and worlds to enjoy or to survive against them in which is also a fact... the modding community make this game into something amazing and I can't thank both parties involved enough I have had almost 1000 hours of enjoyment thanks to all of your hard work and I never regret buying this game.

I recommend buying it when it comes out on offer and hell when its reduced in price buy all the DLC at the same time but never buy DLC or the game at full price as you should expect an incomplete experience but it is also brilliant and you will have to play it to understand what I mean.

TLDR this game is the prettiest space game I have ever seen, wait two years tho
The basic roles in this game miner, explorer and mission lacky are fleshed out however the game doesn't reward positive player actions like helping other players which can produce allot of murder hobos in the community, it has a massive universe and allot of potential, this will all take time and in my opinion the game is so far from finished I expect in a few years they may have ironed out the issues I would look elsewhere for a finished space game experience... I would say that they appear to have the most immersive and complete experience I have seen however... it is just their inability to spot things that obviously need a tweak that could make the game three times better that gets me everytime but they are improving just don't hold your breathe for frontier. oh and if anyone says this games narrative is decided by the player I would like to point you towards the most recent example where the developers allegedly reset a system state to have it inline with what they wanted god modding instead of letting the players decide. which is the reason I didn't mention this games complicated but amazing system states where you can through terrorism cause a mass panic in a system and make it go into lockdown or steal all their money so they go broke and cause a mass outbreak or do the opposite.. this is the most fun part of this game is it feels like a living universe... just stay away from community goals as they clearly have no player choice. NPCs are in an sad state youl notice it after you have played awhile that there is no way to achieve their stats or engineered items as they aren't balanced or fair in short if they are elite or dangerous run away from them unless you are late game engineered and kitted out almost doesn't matter what type of ship they are in as they will eat you alive.

This game is great however due to some glaring design flaws and the developers sense of fairness being very far in the care bear camp I would wait until the game developers the most important thing for me in a space game of this size is that you are able to make choices and thrive in your own way, usually these are pirate, merchant, miner, explorer / treasure hunter, bounty hunter, military police at a minimum at this time the game has done ok in a few of these roles but through not encouraging player interaction they are missing good opportunities and ignoring other obvious design choices that would improve the game here are some examples that were completely ignored on the suggestion forum that come to all of us with ease..

Now the most important you need to take away from this post if you can be bothered reading it is they are improving the game they have recently fleshed out the mining system to be very graphically appealing big explosions lots of money very fun especially if you are good at spotting the asteroids you can blow up my friend started the game and has all the money he needs from this... this kind of design needs to continue throughout each role in the game so players feel they can pick whatever they like and get good enough at it that they are able to make plenty of money and progress in the game, keep it up frontier this gives me hope.

Exploration has been greatly improved and will be getting more and more improvements down the line as they talk about atmospheric landings and have added in allot of game changes that benefit exploration and new devices for exploring and have made it an interesting and rewarding experience.

Make fuel rat an actual role in the game ( there is a massive group of players hell bent on refueling players till death and saving stranded players ) give people in game monetary/reputation rewards and a ingame intelligence network that allows players to make a distress beacon that can be seen system wide. This in my opinion is a sad and missed opportunity if they make changes like this the game would become allot more friendly.

Players aren't allowed to trade in credits directly, this is because at its core money is kind of exp so this kind of makes sense but they need to make it easier to help other players they are working on this as far as I can see with wing missions and they are improving.

The bounty hunting system and chasing players in this game is extremely difficult even with me friending my enemy on purpose a clan of players wasn't able to stop me from just jumping away and travelling the universe even with fuel stops the game needs a pirate and bounty hunter intelligence network to allow for players to get important information like a tracker on players everytime they are spotted by tracker npcs or reported by npcs or stations that see them.

The role of Pirate is greatly hindered by certain design flaws, the way you capture enemy cargo is very slow and cumbersome and means youl have to be sitting still to do it within 5 minutes, 5 minutes is a long time to be getting shot at by npcs, its a very complicated system of destroying engines and stopping a drifting npc ship but can be quite rewarding experience, my only issue here is that they obviously need to add grappler cables to grab enemy ships to make this process easier, also you could simply give us a boarding assault weapon that is capable of attaching to the enemy ship and taking all the cargo at once it would just be an exercise in simplicity and be allot more satisfying less messy than all the collector limpets.

A space mmorpg with a massive universe some questionable design methods adding allot of grinding in but the game is getting more and more open to player choice, has a dev team that doesn't tend to listen to its community and a dedicated community that will dedicate itself to supporting any questionable decision made by the development team leading to some unfortunate antics... including but not limited to practically outlawing pvp in the game. let me explain

Should you kill another player you get a penalty in money (which in this instance can be seen as both xp and character level lose too much money and youl end up losing the ship you are using) on top of that penalty you have super elite and as many are concerned overpowered npcs that will hunt you down.. now maybe you think this system is a fair punishment for people who kill other players... I would like to point out that players are capable of bypassing pvp all together and don't bump into players that often in such a large universe, so in my opinion this system is entirely uneccessary and people should have focussed on a more in game solution to their problems for example playing in a private group or forming an alliance against pirates and hunting them down that would have been fun...

Ok my final gripe with the anti pvp system is that it also effects npcs, the game punishes you for killing npcs in the same anti grief system made for preventing griefing on players ( any red flags yet? )

My biggest gripe with this game is the NPCs and once you have been playing awhile youl get used to them but they are quite jarring, NPCs ignore masslocking and many other things players have to adhere to such as sub system damage they are able to charge their frame shift drive before the cooldown period after being attacked, which can be very frustrating, they follow the same anti grief system as players so only kill them in anarchy systems, have superior weapons shields and engines plus use engineering mods that are impossible for players to get... dont ask me why

honestly I don't get it at all the better solution to NPC difficulty is to throw more at the player at once I don't know why they felt the need to make NPCs capable of cheating and the impossible their attitude towards difficulty in these instances can be very

If you have read this far into the comment here is your reward my name is Kascaden you are welcome to become my enemy or ally add me in game and state which you are :D I enjoy helping players with diamonds

Absolutely brilliant rougelike space rpg nothing else like it and I wish more games would take this approach to making games... I have played this on mobile and Pc now and both version are awesome I am not sure if it doesn't support it or if I just have an old patch on my tablet but damn the addition of strike craft is awesome.. this game is brutal and awesome and I have died hundreds of times but I am still enjoying myself : D

I saw some complaints in the reviews and realised that this game isn't for everyone if you expect it to be a cookie cutter holds your hand game it is not that... if you think that the game is holding your hand you will have a rude awakening as it throws you into a pit of death, Literally Aliens come and claw you and your crew to death and your captain dies and you have to look at a sad screen that says your captain was pretty badass and all but now they dead and they won't be doing anything in the near future :D

If you want to play a very hard RPG make a character and a story for yourself this is the game for you.. there are many paths you can take to gain power and wealth and many more ways you can take each of those paths. You need to pay close attention to how you begin your journey customising your character in the beginning is incredibly important as you are able to choose which parts of your character and starting conditions are most important, these choices will completely change your experience of the game and suit different playstyles.

You will not survive if you load the game up and take every aggressive action you can sometimes you have to know when to run away or pay someone off in the hopes that you aren't executed or end up with a badly damaged ship and no money to repair it.

this is a great game and one of the best sandbox experiences I have had in a space game I only wish they make loads of money and give us a first / third person MMORPG space game to rival the likes of elite dangerous. I can dream harold.

A very good arcade shooter space game a bit like if freelancer and faster than light had a baby I feel this may borrow from the general type of game that FTL is but that is where the similarities end. This game is its own snowflake it is a pretty snowflake with lots of nice visual effects and good combat, not overly hard in itself but every spec of health you lose or damage you take or special weapons you use in a fight might be needed in your next encounter so it becomes a very interesting and tactical experience alongside the many interesting items you can find.

I have found some items to be extremely useful but I see many options for totally different ways of playing the game and lots of skillful tactics can be used to avoid and outsmart near impossible odds and that is what this game does very well it may put you in near impossible situations but to me It has never felt cheap and it always feels like something I have done has lead me to this place. I haven't actually completed the game yet I am at the very end ( I think ) I wont spoil but I have to say I am impressed by the gameplay and the decisions the player has been given that seem very meaningful you are clearly able to choose from different types of gameplay and you can add certain items together or devices used in tandum to create some very powerful tactics... I haven't experienced all of it yet but or though some of the items are powerful its all random as to whether or not you can find it and if you play on harder difficulties you are rewarded with more blueprints and items and risk vs reward is done right in this game..

I could go on and on but this game does everything I had hoped for it and more I didn't go into this game expecting too much because developers have let me down recently but these guys know what they are doing I hope to see more from this developer as they appear to have a gift for making games and a passion for making them right.

This is just my opinion I could go on and on but this is the first space game in a long time that captures the simplicity and magic of space fights and still offers a good narrative to follow and I have really enjoyed uncovering the story. people say this way of telling a story is overused but I think it is great and done very well.

Please keep it up and hopefully you make enough money to move into the MMORPG space game genre and make a game like this with the same level of simplicity that we could all enjoy together ( not saying its anywhere near the same level of complexity when balancing a single player game against a multiplayer ) but this developer can make allot of fun for us to play with..

Please make more games

I would highly recommend this game... in no other that I have seen can you so effectively conquer the universe or bring peace to those worthy of your heavily customizable ships back story and species, this game has me impressed...

This is such a great game and very easily modified if you feel like modifying your game to your liking, the best civilization based game I have ever seen an a great extension to the ideas within Sins of the solar empire even the fact that it is turn based doesn't take away from how great this game.

You can focus on the fact that every single ship type isn't voiced with a angsty character from each race that is obscessively raving about their role as an explorer, destroyer or w.e but it doesn't matter much

only improvement I can see is if they voiced the diplomacy screens and let you add in voiced responses yourself the game is so customizable that is probably already an option I haven't discovered yet.

Thank you for making this game I hope every 4x RTS fan gets a chance to experience this.
