Beyond Citadel is a massive improvement over the The Citadel. The game runs smoother, moves faster, and feels better. The story is very grim and heart wrenching; but definitely still needs some translation help. The levels are all fun and unique, but the boss battles are kind of a joke. I find that the mobs are usually scarier than the bosses. My only two big complaints about this game are:

The weapon's systems. I find them to be a bit too technical sometimes. You have to learn how to reload and prime each type of gun in the game; which while somewhat charming, does interfere with the flow of the game sometimes. Panic swapping to a different weapon and then having to pray you have the muscle memory down to reload and fire it can get a bit mentally draining. I found out that there are settings that supposedly automate this process for you, but I haven't tried them out much yet.

The Gore. Holy hell is this game grotesque with it's gore. The creator is clearly working their fetish into the game. I only recently found out that there is a setting to toggle off the gore. I recommend people use this immediately, but do warn that some of the content does work better with the harsher visuals.

Overall, definitely check this game out so long as you are not weak of heart or stomach.
