And I guess you have little mini-towers to help but YOU (and your friends now that co-op is here) are the tower(s) that feels just like Halo back in it's glory days

I bought this game like 2 days ago, half of the creatures are unfinished in terms of animation/graphics and I still think this is the pokemon game I wish game freak would make

I'm a simple man, you give me the tools to hack and slash my way through a bunch of demons in a satisfying combat system, I enjoy it. The sheer variety of classes (especially after the update) are incredibly fun to use as well, highly recommended.

An incredibly compelling little game and story. It makes me love the existential dread of doing one job over and over again for my little funny robots

One of the buildings is a turret that has to have its skill activated to attack, and only has exactly enough energy to cast that skill.

In return, the turret has GLOBAL RANGE, insane attack speed, and incredible damage.

It's biggest problem is that it's actually so strong and fast that it sometimes overkills and you see several bullets hitting where an enemy used to be, because it fired off like 5 shots there and the projectile had to travel the whole way.

This game is rad and the units and buildings are incredibly creative and fun to play with. The game is a bit easy, but honestly I think that just means you don't have to be a starcraft god to win runs.

Right, so, you were able to get into this game early with a DLC pack, and I, thinking this would be the next big Starcraft 2 and a big enjoyer of that game, bought the 40 dollar pack to get in early and get some of the co op heroes.

Probably the biggest regretful purchase I have on this site so far. Stormgate plays....fine, and I do genuinely like the hotkeys letting you quickly train new units or upgrades, but the game lacks vision and soul everywhere else.

Starcraft 2's units have clear design and an obvious role for what they're supposed to do in the context of their faction.

Stormgate's factions feel more like an incoherent collection of ideas vaguely pointed in the realm of "kind of like terran" (Vanguard, the blue ones) "kind of zerg-ish" (Infernals, the demons), and "weird protoss-like." (The celestials, angels.)

mixed with the uninspired sci-fi demon and angel motif, and you get a game that....while functional, doesn't really have any big twist or uniqueness that makes me want to play it. I tried to like it for a time, but after a while, I just redownloaded SC2, and found myself greatly enjoying that game again, along with its bevy of custom content right away.

Not to mention that even in the paid early access, there was a co op character for sale at 10 bucks. Yeah, when I saw that I immediately got a strong "Ick".

I just feel like, even though the game's free now, If I wanted to ask someone to play stormgate with me, I'd point them towards SC2 instead, then we could also play custom games together.

That's not to mention the artstyle, which just looks.....painfully generic. I genuinely struggle to remember some of the units in the factions. The barebones "campaign" does not fare much better, with only a few missions, and seemingly an expectation to pay for more later.

Overall, I feel like if you're interested in this game, you'd be better off looking elsewhere. I've heard good things about Beyond All Reason, and I want to give a shout out to Godsworn, a more mythological inspired RTS that, while still in early access, shows a lot more promise and soul than stormgate does.

Really fun game! Must have if you enjoy any kind of survival/crafting adventure game, with an emphasis on the adventure and boss fights.

This game is REALLY good. It's pretty easy, but the story, writing, worldbuilding, and the way it weaves in mechanics and narratives through battle so effortlessly is just....mwah.

Get it.

I came in expecting a simple adventure romp

The game opened with me being an idiot and falling into a pit, and having Amnesia, pretty classic.
Then I learned that I don't have amnesia, I have magically-induced alzheimers, and that it is NOT an isolated incident, and is in fact, the problem plaguing our current world. Uh oh.

Then I realized that the game had spells you use out of combat to explore and find secrets in a way that reminds me greatly of Golden Sun. (A game I love and remember well.)

Then I learned that you can actually de-petrify petrified statues on the overworld once you find the right spell.

Basically: This game has a lot of fun secrets and exploration and I highly recommend it to anyone who liked Baldur's Gate or Golden Sun.
