I've been playing this game for some time now, and I can saw without a doubt, that this IS an amazing game.
This is one of the few early access games where you really feel connected to the developer - Foxy Voxel.
Modding is fun, making mods is fun, the vanilla game is fun. There are constant updates and bug fixes - the developer is very active and consistent with the road map. Many of the updates are based on player feedback. I'm an appalled that this game only has an 80% approval rating at the time of writing this post (August 4th, 2025) as this is one of my staple games that I spend several hours a week playing.

I attempted to play this game back in 2014, but ran into the usual Uplay Laucher issues which made it completely unplayable.
Those are resolved now in 2022.

I would recommend this game if I were able to play it back in 2014, but it feels very clunky and unpolished now.
The tutorials are very lackluster, and after playing AC Origins and Odyssey, this game is very hard to play.
The combat feels awkward, and the eagle vision is not very intuitive. If you were to come from AC III or Blackflag it might be palatable, but coming from the newer part of the franchise it is far too outdated.

I absolutely love this game.
Regardless of its completion status, it is definitely still worth the asking price. Even after newer games coming out, and eventually playing them, I find myself coming back to this game to start a new town and create something unique.

It will probably never be completed, which is undoubtably saddening, but I would buy the game ten times over for the level of enjoyment it has brought me.

I would have provided a more indepth review, but that's already been done. Look on YouTube for videos on this game in 1.7 and 1.71 to get a good feel for the game. YouTube channels Uthris and The Innkeeper have a few playlists of play thoughs with this game that are well worth watching, especially when making a consideration for purchasing this game.
