An improvement on World (at least at it's core, good improvements to weapons, tutorialisation for new players, pacing and story), although without it's "Iceborne" equivalent it's hard to fully assess. I would still recommend this instalment.

The game is buggier than previous games, including ones on the DS / PSP, there are performance issues (I didn't have many personally), but above all IDK how they've ended up making the UX experience worse in navigating, understanding and additionally interacting with other hunters is a confusing mess.

However, I love the series regardless and I'm just here to hunt some monsters so I authorise myself to continue playing.

A fantastic game(so far :P), I've played a lot of the previous Dragon Quest Entries (Dragon Quest 8 being my favourite) and It's great to see a new JRPG that encourporates classic turn based elements; Being able to move around during combat is a cool spice of life touch. Everything I've encounted 'so far' in terms of mechanics, environment and even most of the characters is spot on.

+ Nostalgic classic mechanics, music, SFX.
+ Story (So Far) seems pretty gripping and interesting.
- Some of the voice acting sounds a little off
- This is more of a personal thing but I would prefer the ingame awards in the menu to be visual in a grid rather than all text. Easier on the eye. > . <

The game is super easy to pick up and play,. The difficulty curve is fairly gradual for new players and I would definitely reccomend!
