One of the only games that lets you accidentally nuke yourself.

The story potential in this game is amazing, I never thought I'd get so obsessed with avenging my characters brother to the point where I'd excitedly throw a guard through a spaceship window.

This is after countless deaths though, it's Hotline Miami in space; a top-down (tactical?) massacre-'em-up.

An incredibly soothing piece of Software that lets you chill out and explore the Universe.
I'll emphasize that this isn't necessarily a game since there are no objectives or NPCs. This game is for those who just like to walk around the entire Universe and admire the view.

I played the free development version of this for a good while before this and favored the in-game ship simulation mechanics (that you can access through the menus on the left side). The system lets you pick out a ship (small to bloody huge (600m+)) and then gives you various control schemes for different situations you can fly in (horizon marker for planetary/atmospheric flight; orbital controls; docking controls; warp controls).

Picking up where I left off in the older versions, I spawned a starship in Orbit of Earth before hitting the gas in direction of the other side of the galaxy - only allowing myself to plot my route there based on the stars I can pick out from the constantly-refreshing constellations around me. All this while listening to an Audiobook of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" (You can find it here if you're interested in the playlist.

There's nothing better than marking your destination and hitting the warp button. The autopilot does the hard work and you get to sit back and watch the warp bubble form around your vessel. As you travel faster than light, I can't get over how awesome it is to see the light from passing stars getting warped through your ships' warp field.

All in all, if you play games like Elite Dangerous or No Mans Sky for the photo modes, I couldn't recommend this game enough since it also has a photo mode. I love space so much it hurts and this game really hits the spot for me!

I believe this pack is great for those who've sunk hundreds of hours into KSP and are looking for a new challenge to conquer (complex craft are a possibility with refinement being the hurdle). I would wait for a sale though, as the price is a bit steep for what's included in the DLC.

One of the main reasons I wrote this review was to address some of the issues people were having with the use of the robotics system. I too was a bit lost, but many forget the existence of KSPedia in the editor. That covers how to configure parts and loops. After that, the perfecting of loops is the new learning curve.

This game is, like everyone is saying, FTL based in a 3D cartoon WW2, and that's a match made in heaven!
It's simplicity tricks you into thinking it'll be easy, but you're dead wrong!

The crew you're given are procedurally generated, which lead to me thinking I'd never get attached to them, but I was dead wrong. So wrong, in fact, that I found myself screaming "Go on, Whitaker! We're counting on you!" (Whitaker being my nose-gunner in my bomber, "The Soup Kitchen-er", as it charged at a wing of enemy fighters).

The missions look easy on paper, which lead to me thinking that permadeath was required to balance this game, but I was dead wrong. So wrong, in fact, that I screamed at my nose gunner (in my bomber, "The Soup Kitchen-er" - The bomber with a laddle drawn onto the sides using the custom decal tool) to rush between her positions and back into the nose gun so that my aformentioned bomber wouldn't be torn to shreds as it rushed headlong at a wing of enemy fighters.

Basically, I was dead wrong about this game as a whole. I'm terrified of losing the bomber because it's expensive and I'm terrified of losing my crew alike because they're adorable. You catch my drift? This game will annoy you and make you cry which seems to be a re-occuring pattern with games I like.

Overall, in the short amount of time I've had this game so far, I'm giving it an 8/10. I'll update this review as I continue on through the game over the next few weeks.

Amazing fun with friends or alone. I've had it for a while and, since buying it, it's been constantly fixed and furthered. Smashing my own capital ships into each other/planets/asteroids is my favourite past-time.

From what I can tell so far, I've gathered that Everspace is FTL, but 3D and with way more screaming and keyboard-smashing. How I'm typing this shall remain a mystery.

If you liked games such as Hotline Miami or Clustertruck, you'll like this too.

Imagine FTL, but instead of seeing a 2D map of all the possible jumps that could make or break you, choose any star from real-life data gathered by astronomers of the milky way. Think of if Euro Truck Simulator went to space and made Kerbal Space Program pregnant.

It's hard to get into but it's worth it.

TL;DR: 3D FTL / Space Euro-Truck Simulator.
