Came for the gameplay and atmosphere, stayed for the emotional devastation and spiraling insanity of a game that suckered me in from start to finish.

You only get one chance to play this game blind, and blissfully ignorant. The gameplay is a prime selling point, but the story and atmosphere are by far and away the main attractions for me. Its a delight to soak in, and passion oozes from the seams of every decrepit, decaying or eerily sterile set piece that your character finds themselves in.

Be patient, and be persistent. There will be frustrations, and there will be tedium. But you'll always find a shortcut or solution if you keep your eyes and ears open.

Remember your promise.

I've played a little over three hours so far with a group of friends and I have to say- this tickles my pickle.

At the time of writing, the first day for Infinite's multiplayer open beta has been alot of positive things; smooth, fun, and relatively stable with a few caveats.

I've been running into intermittent connectivity issues but no crashes so far in matches; the worst issues have been some teleporting around, or delayed input, but I've run into them about a handful of times. I live in an area with high internet traffic, which I assume is being exacerbated by the massive day one influx of players.

There have been loading screen hiccups, though they've also been intermittent; Network errors and a few other popups that've kicked our party out of matchmaking have also been encountered, but nothing that forced us out of the client.

Gameplay wise, as mentioned before, its smooth and fun when stability isn't an issue. Everything feels fun and fresh without being too divergent, like a sort of slightly sped up version of Halo Reach; TTK feels a little slower then Halo 5's, but that could also be down to how less chaotic movement is in the game, and the changes to the weapon sandbox.

Overall, as someone who didn't have the fondest of memories for the previous two mainline iterations in the 343 series, I'd honestly recommend Infinite's multiplayer in its current state. While I have complaints about things like the progression system and battlepass, the fact that this package is for the price of free is a little bonkers.

Here's to hoping the campaign holds up just as well.

Edit: We need more modes from classic social pickings; griffball, infection, etc. Also, just to pile onto the current PR avalanche- fix the progression, please for the love of god.

For the price of absolutely nothing, you have no reason not to try out Destiny 2. Bring along a couple of friends too- it's one hell of a ride that will suck you in.

It's honestly not bad! A fantastic addition to Company of Heroes. Every CoH player should try it at some point- you won't regret it.

Also nerf the freaking Sherman Fireflies, you may get just two but they'll wipe out basically everything.

While a fun game, BO2 has the same exorbitant pricing as most of the other CODs. In short, don't buy it here- you're better off getting a key on some other site.

I've wasted 37 hours on this game (as of the moment when I made this review- I guarantee you that number is going to skyrocket over time), and I have not regretted a single moment of it. I have no regrets about every second I spent, desperately drowning the determined German advance with tides of equally determined conscripts as I buy precious time for my T34/76's to make it to the frontlines to crush that StuG pounding that machine gun nest suppressing that sniper attempting to kill that squad of engineers as they repair the machine gun nest, while a trio of Panzers attempt to smash through the right side offensive spearheaded by a trio of American Shermans with two British Crocodile heavy tanks, and a M10 Tank Destroyer right behind them with German 8-cm mortars falling about the armor engagement as infantry fight and die all around them in the muddy trenches of Hill 331.

Yeah, it gets pretty hectic.

This game also has workshop support, meaning you have mods. And thank the God-Emperor for those, as the most enjoyment I've gotten from this game comes from two mods- the More Units mod, and the Resources for Players mod. Both of these have added more playtime on this game dramatically for me, and I've spent too many weekends in a single game for an hour or more, deploying intricate defensive networks and minefields in order to destroy any possible hope the four expert AIs have of dislodging my 500 population cap tank force inching bit by bit up their territory as I build up dozens of mortar positions on my side of the map with barrage units, to crush their pitiful 'armies'.

Oh. And OKW and British can be ridiculously powerful when played right. OKW has some of the most powerful heavy tanks in the game alongside Russia and Wehrmacht, while British use some extremely 'interesting' units.

The base game comes with only two factions, the German Wehrmacht and the Russian Red Army. Both are just as powerful as the DLC factions, as all factions have their strengths and weaknesses. Wehrmacht generally follow a early to mid-game infantry offensive with a gradual inclusion of armor, while the Soviets turn out hordes of expendable infantry in a grind to get to it's formidable armor forces like the daunting KV2.
OKW uses powerful but expensive forces overall, and it's early-game infantry and vehicles are devastating against other armies. Late game, it struggles until it reaches it's most powerful heavy tanks which can turn the tide of battle. More then just the units though, OKW relies heavily on how you play it, as many of it's units are highly situational, such as the thermal searchlight halftrack which can reveal enemies hidden in the fog of war, which is best used on the offensive with fast moving armor units.
British play somewhat differently from their COH1 version, but many principles are still the same. They have access to the Sherman Firefly which is essentially a Medium tank, given the firepower of a tank destroyer. Pretty neat eh? It also has access to some of the more decent Allied heavy tanks, in comparison to the Russians and Americans. They also use some really powerful defensive positions like the BOFORS gun, which can rip and tear through infantry and light vehicles alike.
Finally, there's America. The US army plays a somewhat intermediate game style, and depending on your doctrine, it can cater to several different playstyles, ranging from an airdrop heavy playstyle that can shred an unprepared opponent, to a slow and methodical armored push backed by artillery support. None of it's units are particularly spectacular, but that's because of the fact that the US Army has some of the best unit verastality currently available. Late game pushes with the US generally follow a mixed force doctrine, especially if you play a certain doctrine which allows vehicles and infantry nearby each other to coordinate fire, and to move faster.

I personally play OKW and British the most, due to their heavy tanks and bombardment options. There's just something that is so satisfying about dropping a Stuka Fuß bombardment square on the enemy defenses followed by a Schwerer Gewher artillery strike, as a King Tiger and two Jagdtigers smash their way through the enemy as Panzer IVs blaze through the devastated cityscape behind them, leaving nothing but ash and rubble.
That or sending a spearhead column of Crocodile tanks as they illuminate their way through thick undergrowth with spurting jets of flame as airburst artillery shells smash through the treeline, vaporizing infantry and light armor alike with HE shells smashing apart what few armor units there are with devastating accuracy.

All in all, 9/10. I would recommend this game to anyone, especially if it's on sale.

Honestly, I kind of enjoyed this game for the limited amount of time I played. It was graphically decent despite it's age, and the gunplay was enjoyable. I also liked the differences between the three factions.

There were a few things stopping me from fully enjoying the game though.

1.) Player population. I'm not sure if it's just because of the time of day I decided to play this on, or the server, but in my time as a proud member of the Terran Republic, I encountered mostly small-scale to medium-scale skirmishes. Nothing major. Nothing to write home about. In all honesty, I downloaded PS2 under the assumption that I would see massive set piece battles, with hundreds of players duking it out in a conflict that can only really be captured in a game like this.

Unfortunately, I didn't see any of that at all. It could be due to a declining server population. Maybe not. Who knows.

2.) The grind also irked me, as it seemed a little...excessive. I think it's well-worth mentioning that Planetside 2's grind is legendary, and has been the subject of comparison from other games (I'm looking at you, Heroes & Generals).

And...yeah. That's pretty much my list. It's small, and it doesn't really raise amazing points. But it's my checklist of stuff that prevent me from enjoying this title.

I personally found a lot of the claims that this game is the next ARMA with a World War 2 slap-stick skin somewhat erroneous. This is mostly due to the fact that as realistic as Red Orchestra 2 is, it's not simulator level. That's ARMA's job.

On that note, I liken RO2's gameplay as being somewhat similar to Insurgency's. You'll see that same lethality rate between weapons with pretty much every gun being able to somehow end your life in miserable ways, and squad play is critical. However, RO2 brings to the table vehicle combat- something I personally found very unique with the 1st person interior viewpoint.

Overall, it's a good game although it has it's flaws. For one thing, it's not the most welcoming to new players. If you've played COD for the vast majority of your shooter life...well, you're in for a rude awakening. The movement system is strange to say the least if you're coming from something like that, and hidden factors such as morale can really impact your game. You'll also frequently die from things like bullets magically penetrating through walls, or hidden attackers blowing your head off from halfway across the town. However, things like these almost never leave you feeling cheated. Instead, you just get a better grasp of the game you're playing.

Personal rating- 8/10. It's a good game. Is it a fantastic game? Not really, Still though, I would like to get the chance to play this game again.

The sequel to the highly popular Warhammer 40k RTS, Dawn of War 2 adds a MOBA flair through it's somewhat open campaign (That's also cooperative, which is something I did not expect to see in an RTS). It also marks the addition of The Last Stand, where you control a hero alongside several other players, as you desperately fend off ever increasing hordes of enemies, ranging from Ork shootas, to Space Marines armed with lethal plasma weaponry.
