I'm shocked at how quickly the writing in this game endeared me to the characters I'm trying to keep alive. It did a very good job in motivating me to keep everyone alive through a very different farming sim game.

I can't believe the wait was worth it.

Finished my first playthrough and this might be the best Kodaka and Uchikoshi game to date already.
I wasn't even expecting to enjoy the gameplay as much as I do, but finding out that the game encourages killing your units made the game so much more fun. If it weren't for the moaning sound bits, I'd have no issues with the game.

I didn't resonate with it as much as a lot of other players, but a few moments still hit me hard enough to recommend this.

If you're a new player..
First off, don't buy off steam
Secondly, if you're playing for the story, play the free trial up to Stormblood and then buy the game and finish the story of Endwalker and ignore everything that comes after.
You will have a better time and spend less.

A very story and character heavy game with some iffy combat at times. If you can't tolerate incessant banter between a party of psychopaths, you'll probably dump this game in the first 30 minutes.
But if you enjoy characters talking with each other constantly and a tale of friendship in the galaxy, you'll probably love this game as much as I did. This game introduced me to the GotG and I'm glad it did.

Ending made me cry, that's enough of a reason for me to leave a positive review. I love all these dumb cats and I want to just keep playing.

I beat the game and got the 'Slumer' ending and there couldn't have been a more perfect conclusion to this tale of a father and son. I don't even mind looking for other endings, this was the best outcome as far as I'm concerned.
