Wow. This game is an absolute blast. If you were ever doubting that Postal would make a good boomer shooter then stop it and buy the game ASAP. It has everything you could want from a Postal game while adapting to fast paced, explosive action that the franchise hasnt seen since the original Postal game and its safe to say they knocked it out of the park.

Throughout the game you will once again take on the role of the Postal Dude (voiced by Corey Cruise) however instead of leisurely, or rather violently making your through a set of various tasks across 7 days, you are instead going to be fighting nonstop horrors conjured up by the Dudes own mind. Everything from normal old rednecks wielding shotguns to aliens, walking mustaches, bondage zombies, clowns, siren head, and my personal favorite target: furries, and much MUCH more.

At first it might all seem a bit overwhelming but once you start getting your hands on some of the unique and powerful weaponry the game offers you will feel much more in control of the situation. Standard shotguns and machine guns to dildo bows and holy hand grenades. The weapons in the game stand with the best of them and all feel worth using and have their own secondary fire modes that help in a pinch. Usually in games with a large array of weapons I find myself using the same 2 weapons and having to remind myself that there are more weapons available but this is one of the rare occasions where that wasnt the case. I love every weapon available save for the melee weapon (although it is still badass) and would frequently switch between them.

Another familiar sight to Postal fans or fans of early FPS games is the item system. You will see some familiar items such as the "health" pipe and other items new to the series that all have helpful effects that reinforce the amazing gameplay and pacing.

One of my personal favorites parts of the game is the level design. Each level is unique and has so many little secrets and things to find that its impressive for a linear game like this. It makes it worth going through every available door to see if you can find a reference, achievement, or even just supplies. The variety of locations is also very welcoming as you will be ripping and tearing- oops wrong game- you will be shooting your way through suburban neighborhoods, the mexican border, asylums, swamps, aliens spaceships, and more. It really has a certain charm to it that I havent felt in a game for a very long time.

To wrap up this review, even though I could continue but Im getting too lazy to type, Postal Brain Damaged is a special game that I am very happy lived up to expectations. Playing the demo I wasnt sure the full game would be able to keep the momentum and fun the whole way through but I have never been happier to say I was so very wrong. I strongly encourage anyone interested to pick this up at full price or on sale. Even if its your introduction to the Postal franchise you will be in very good hands. This is my personal new favorite game in the series and I hope the Postal boomer shooter saga doesnt stop here.
