I rarely refund a game but this one I had to. It was just not fun. And it didn't seem like a dungeon but more like a town with a villager standing there saying "will you kill the rats that have infected our town" or whatever it was. I prefer a more linear dungeon, maybe with a few side corridors to dead ends (with treasure chests!) not this town. Maybe there's a dungeon later but I didn't make it that far.

Also, I prefer Turn-Based instead of Action all the time. I got killed once because I was in my inventory looking at things or trying to make room for something I just found in a chest and didn't know that it wasn't turn-based and that enemies could sneak up on me and attack with just a soft wap sound that I did not notice. In some games if you get attacked from behind they flash the screen red to let you know! That would have been helpful. I prefer turn-based so I can take my time looking at my inventory without having to worry about being attacked. In this game you'd better take a quick look!

The keyboard controls were difficult for me to use. I kept moving sideways instead of moving my view to the side. Trying to move and control the view was difficult. I kept forgetting which key to use or using the wrong one. When you're getting attacked from something you can't see you have to move your head so you can see to attack! Alas I died again.

This game is not for me but I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad game because of that. There may be people out there who like this type of game. More power to them but I'm out of here.

This is a great solitaire game! They have some tricks up their sleeves to prevent us from winning such as cards that are covered by dirt and slowly appear when we make matches until the dirt is all gone and the card is usable. In later levels they have the same thing but if you don't match it when it's usable then the dirt reappears for every move you make that's not a match, like clicking through the card deck. So it's difficult to clear that card because you have to have other cards that can use it and at the right time. Another thing is a card that is blank but with a number that counts down every time we make a match until it gets to zero and flips over and is usable. Then there's a stack a cards covered by a strange colored backing and the way to clear it is to uncover another strange glowing card back and click on it to clear the other one. For help, occasionally you get some wild cards that can be used and then select any card on the tableau to clear it. Wild Cards are very useful when you run through the entire deck and still have a card or two to clear.

What I love about this game is that there are 4 different difficulty options to play, from Easy (gives you more cards), Normal (usual number of cards), Hard (subtracts some cards from a normal size deck), and Really Hard (it's not called that, I forget what it's called, also even more cards are subtracted from the deck!) So if you just want to breeze through the game you can play on Easy. If you want a challenge and like replaying the same hand over and over and over again then choose one of the harder options. You can choose how YOU want to play the game and I think that's great.

The story is unusual, not the typical quest type. THere are long story scenes between each segment. You can skip all the scenes if you don't want to read them and that is okay.

There are pets in eggs that you find beneath a stack of cards, just like in the other Faerie Solitaire games. Also you could find wood or magic dust under a stack of cards. They are used to unhatch our eggs into pets.

The music is not as light-hearted as in previous games but is not totally dark and heavy and depressing. Let's say it fits the theme of Dire. And they did not distract me from my gameplay but quietly played in the background. The sound effects are the same as in the other Faerie Solitaire games.

Notice: As of this writing the game is not complete. They have artwork that needs to be added to the story sections and the ending of the game needs to be added. Also pets are inoperable right now so any you find you can't do anything with them. The Devs are hard at work on this and will update new content as it is finished.

Also note that I received a free Beta key and am surprised that I was able to play as much as I was. I assumed the beta would end and I would have to buy the game. That still might happen and I will definitely buy it. If it ends up that the Dev game me a total free copy of the game even once it is finished then I will buy a copy for a friend that wants it to pay it forward. The fact that I got this for free has no impact on my review.

This is a fun match 3 game to play with a variety of puzzle styles. There are the usual swap match 3, then there are levels where you click on icons of two or more which the game calls "collapse", then there is "puzzle" where you have a grid showing the outline of objects (leaves, pots, flowers, shells, etc.) and items fall from the sky continuously and you have to grab an item and put it over it's outline to fill in the puzzle. Later levels have sections where you have to place two of the items in order to fill it in, or boxes that have to be broken down by placing an object next to it. I loved those levels, they were a lot of fun.

The story is barebones and illogical. A volcano errupted and destroyed a native village on some island. Explorer lady (I forgot her name) flies out to the island to help. We rebuild the village by playing the match 3 levels and earning gold which we spend on upgrades to the village (huts, pond, etc.) at the same time we find fragments of ancient artifacts (scroll, pot, etc.) which also earn money. (who are they buying from????!!!!)

Background music is pleasant. No problem there. Sounds are okay too.

Price? I bought it on sale because I'm cheap but it's worth what I paid for or even more. You decide for yourself to buy it full price or wait for a sale.

My game took 10 hours to finish the story and now I have to replay levels to get all 3 stars to get all the achievements.

This is a beautiful puzzle game. You have to make the flowers bloom by having a water source next to it and also green grass tiles around it. The first several levels are easy as they introduce the game concept but after awhile suddenly you come to an abrupt halt and are stumped for awhile. I try to complete it by my own mental power rather than referring to guides, but I'm also impatient so on 3 of the puzzles I did give in and look at the guide for the solution.

The music and sounds are very soothing and relaxing with rushing water and a soft guitar playing in the background.

Visuals are nice especially when the flowers bloom.

I bought my copy when it was on sale and it's worth the price. Even though I only show 4 hours of playtime (it felt like a lot longer) I know that I will revisit this game and play it again in a year once I have forgotten all the solutions. I missed playing it when I had completed all the levels, I wanted more! Such a pleasant puzzle game.

6 hours of torture! No, I did not like this match 3 game and had to force myself to finish it.]

1. First off the graphics look weird, especially the girl, Amanda, her face looks freaky. The icons were so detailed they were actually hard to match because I couldn't tell the difference between the Ice Cream Cone and the Ring. And I don't even know what some of them were. What's that horizontal blue and white striped thing? And that bunch of bubbles, what is it supposed to be?

2. Secondly the music is horrible. It's like bad elevator music or the stuff they play when you are on hold on the phone because your call is very important to them.

3. The Gameplay. Nothing really bad there except there's not much variation. There are some icons hidden behind ropes and you have to match it in order to break the ropes. Later there will be double ropes! It would have been nice to see wooden boxes that are cleared by matching next to them, or iced over icons to match, but no, all we get are ropes, ropes, ropes! It's especially difficult to make a match to a roped icon when it is near the top of the field. It's basically just make matches until you get lucky.

4. Special Items. They give you 3 items to help you once the meter is filled up: a Hammer that will clear one square, a Bomb that clears 4 squares, and something that looks like a medallion that takes away all of a selected icon off the board. I'm not sure if the meter fills just as you make matches or only when you match 4, 5, or 6.

5. Good luck trying to get 3 stars on every level! And Thank God there are no Steam achievements for that. I play a lot of match 3 games so I consider myself pretty fast but in this game I got mostly 2 stars.

6. Boss Fight! Now this was fun. At the end of each room there is a boss that goes back and forth across the bottom of the screen. The matching board is above it and when a match is made above the boss the items fall on it and it loses HP. There are also spiders trying to web up some of the icons but they can get removed by making a match under them.

7. The Sticker Book. It makes me want to puke. That's not my idea of a sticker book but I guess I'm too old and this is how they do things nowadays. It's a scene in a park with flowers, people just standing about randomly, more flowers, a gazebo, even more flowers and even the Eiffel Tower! It's just so girly. Too much for me.

8,Final Thoughts. Price: I got my key through a bundle so I can't comment on the store price. I'm giving this game a negative rating because it was not fun to play. I forced myself to finish so I could make this review in the hopes of sparing people the pain and agony I went through.

Without the guide I would NEVER in a million years have thought of those words. Were there some clues I missed? It's like a guessing game and it's unfair.

To the game's credit it does have full voice dialogues.
Graphics are simple swirly dark colors with an eye or ova or something in the middle.

I'm not gonna comment on the "free key" thing as that has nothing to do with the game itself and it's the game I am reviewing. My opinion: Don't waste your time. Oh and it has achievements but some dumb ones like play the game in the year 2036 (or something like that). Wut? Or how about make 50 wrong guesses on any level. Tedious. Play the game through 7 times! NO FREAKING WAY. Once was enough for me thank you very much. I hate stupid achievements like that.

Do you like Match 3 games? Do you like farming games? Well then "Hope's Farm" is a match made in heaven for you! This game combines the normal match 3 gameplay and adds lite farming that you have to do before you can go onto the next match 3 round. The items that you are matching are part of an "order" the farm has received. Like person A wants 45 tomatoes, person B wants 50 cucumbers, person C wants 4 cartons of milk. In the beginning you have only a couple crops and a fruit tree. Click on the tomato patch and a water bucket appears, drag that over the field to water it. In a few seconds the crop will grow. To harvest it, just hover your mouse over the crop and a sickle appears, drag that over it to harvest the crop. Harvested crops go into Storage and you only have so much room so don't get carried away stocking up on corn. Once your "order" match 3 game has been successfully played you get star points. Once you have enough star points you get an upgrade such as more crops and eventually chickens, cows, pigs, and sheep.

When you run out of water from watering your crops you play the water game. In one corner of the board is a icon with water beneath it, similar to the game The Four Elements. The rest of the board has got a dirt background that you dig away by matching over it. At the bottom of the screen is a Well. Make a path from the water to the well to finish.

The match 3 game part has the typical bonus items that you get from matching four in a row or five in a row. In this game you get a firecracker that eliminates things in a cross (up, down, left, right) around the firecracker. Match 5 to get a bomb that eliminates a square 3x3 blocks. In addition to those are three bonus items you can use at any time: a shovel that will remove one square, (I'm having brain fog and can't remember the second one), and thirdly a Lightning Bolt that will remove all of the same item like all the corn disappears. You can use those any time but they are limited in number initially and can be purchased by some form of currency (blue stars?) that you only have so much of and get more by completing levels.

The graphics are cutesy and bright. The background music sound like old time folk music with banjos and harmonicas. It's pleasant and has a down home feel to it.

Price seems reasonable for this genre. I bought it on sale.

I'd say this is one of the good ones in the genre, as long as you like the farming aspect because you will be doing a lot of it. If you don't care for farming you might find that part tedious. I have not completed the game yet and wonder what happens at the end once you have all the crops and animals. I can see the urge to play the game again from the beginning once one has finished, so there may be replay value. Total time to finish all 100 order (levels) is about 11 hours. Not bad.

This is the only Grafi game (so far) that I've made it to the last level and boy is it a doozy. I can't make it past the last buzzsaw.

Anyway, if you've never played a Grafi game before (and they all feature the same concepts) then here's how the game works. You have to guide your ball to the finish area (it is colored different) by using your mouse button to change gravity so your ball falls up or down into a new area. You can't change gravity any time you want to but there are pink jewels that you run into that let you change gravity one more time for each jewel. At first the game is easy but fairly soon they add Spikes to avoid, moving spikes, floating buzzsaws, pendulum swing buzzsaws, and other things. You need to use precise timing to get past the obstacles. Once you make it to the finish area a chime sounds and you can continue to the next level.

One thing I love about these games is the small details like trees growing sideways or upside down. It adds some wackiness to the game.

The music is pleasant but the track is too short and repeats endlessly which gets monotonous after awhile.

There are Achievements! And they are alphabet letters and numbers for those won't can't get enough of them.

The game is cheap but wait for a sale and get it cheaper. That's about it. All the Grafi games are the same in concept so if you like one, get them all! You don't have to start at the first just jump right in anywhere. The game introduces the concepts for you slowly.

Same concept as the original Grafi game but different puzzles. You have to press a button to reverse gravity in order to guide a ball to the finish area, which is a different color ground than everything else. Along the way you may encounter spikes to avoid, spikes going up and down in the ground so you have to time it to get past, buzzsaws floating in air, buzzsaws on pendulum chains, and more. This is a physics based game so sometimes the solution is to change gravity while the ball is at a certain angle in order to fly across and land at the finish. And sometimes this game makes you want to pull your hair out and scream and rage quit.

There is no tutorial per se but the game does a good job of just introducing new concepts slowly so you understand how they work. You use the mouse button to control the gravity changes. Some people are miffed that they can't change that to a key on the keyboard. The mouse worked fine for me so I don't get what all the fuss is about and certainly don't think it's worth giving a game a negative review just for that one missing feature.

The background music is pleasant but it repeats over and over again and quickly gets monotonous. There are Achievements! And they look like letters of the alphabet and numbers for those who can't get enough letters.

Game is cheap but wait for a sale and get it even cheaper. If you find you like it, all the Grafi games have the same concept so get them too.

A fun physics game where you reverse gravity and try to get the ball into the special colored area in order to advance to the next level. The trick is, you can't reverse gravity any time you want to, only once and then if you hit a pink jewel you can reverse again. Along the way you will have to use precise timing to avoid spikes, buzzsaws going back and forth, buzzsaws on pendulum chains and more obstacles.

I love the details they added like trees growing sideways or upside down. THe music is monotonous and could use better music since you hear it all the time. The game is cheap. There are achievements and the icons used for them are alphabet letters and numbers.

And that's about it. A small review for a quick little game.
