Only 4 hours of playtime to finish the story! ONLY FOUR HOURS!!! More if you want to get all the achievements, like lose 5 times! I couldn't even figure out how to get 3 stars continously, let alone lose! AND this game is NOTHING LIKE THE OTHERS IN THE SERIES! THe only thing that is the same is the characters. Nothing else.

The game is not timed per se but has a set number of moves you are supposed to use to finish your task (get x many red gems, clear all the stone blocks, etc.). Problem is, some of the levels there was no way to do that unless you used the 4 bonuses, which I rarely used because I like to manipulate the board to do what I have to, not just magically throw some fireworks at it to clear a third of the board! But if you're like me and you run out of turns it does not end in defeat, no it offers to let you continue for a measly 5 gold pieces (you get tons of gold, I was never even near running low on them. Same goes for potions and flowers, the other forms of currency. Run out of bombs? No problem just throw some flowers at them and you are restocked. And if you are running low on flowers you can easily get some for free, just use one potion on the specific round soil patch and the flowers will grow while you play the levels, then you can harvest them. Same with potions, running low? just use some flowers to start the water fountains and after awhile they will give you potions. Again, like the gold I was never near empty of flowers and potions. SO I could afford tons of bonuses and use them all the time if I wanted. Seems kind of like cheating to me, though.

Sound and Background music is okay, I guess, no issues there.

In game achievements but not Steam ones yet.

tl:dr

Not like previous titles in series at all
Only 4 hours of gameplay
Game is easy with too much currency to continuously buy power-ups
I wish I had gotten a refund instead of continuing play.
BUYER BEWARE!

This game took me about 10 hours to complete with all but one achievement gotten. 6/10 Not bad but not ranking with the best. The graphics are poor and one of the voices needs to work on her English accent (guardians pronouced "goo-ardians" instead of "gardians". Hey, it's not my fault there's a 'u' in there that is unpronounced!).

But before I get into all that let me give you the basics. This is a match 3 game with a very thin story (but who cares, right!) and a unique feature of match 3 battles every once in a while. The usual board is the typical "clear all the golden tiles" type of match 3. Unlike some in this genre, however, we are not given bonus helps on the side that we can activate at any time. Rather we must make them. Matching 4 gives you a potion that clear tiles in a cross pattern, but you can only use it where it falls, you can't pick it up and place it where it will do good. Matching 5 gives you a bomb with clears a huge portion of the board, but again you are stuck with where it falls. As you progress you can buy new helpful items with the gold you get for successfully clearing a board. However these new ones appear randomly as far as I can tell. There's one that clears everything in a line vertically and horizaontially where it is activated. Another does a diagonal clear.

Battle match 3! I assume these are wizards in league with the bad guy and trying to stop us completing our quest. We get a square match 3 board and each of the four icons builds power for their own spells when matched. For instance, the red icon powers a fireball. Green powers a healing potion. We have hearts that are our HP and if the bad guy depletes our hearts before we do his then...I don't know what happens because I never had it happen to me! In other words, if you are fast enough the battles are easy.

Another rare break from the norm is digging for statues. We get a board where the bottom is dirt and we can see the glint of where the statues are. Matching next to the dirt clears it and eventually you match enough to get all the statues. The only difficulty is time, do it fast and get 3 stars and the most gold.

All battles earn you gold. If you are fast enough to get 3 stars on a level you get 200 gold, if only 2 stars then 100 gold. With the gold you earn you buy things from signs that pop up, like 5000 gold for another heart during battles, or 50 gold every 3 days for 1500 gold. Once you buy the item the sign turns into a building so eventually you'll have a little village.

Once in a great while there are Hidden Object levels thrown in to break up the monotony.

The sound is okay, typical bling sounds when matching and stuff like that. Background music is blah and uninspiring.

As for the price, I'd say get it on sale. I don't remember if I bought this on Steam or got it in a bundle or somewhere else. It was an okay game, like I said at the top 6/10, just enough to warrant a positive. Get it if you are a real fan of the genre and have to have them all.

Ignore any negative reviews from when the game first came out. The Devs have worked on the game since and it is no longer impossibly difficult. It's like the previous game, only with a few new things added. It's great, I can't stop playing.

So what is GemCraft: Frostborn Wrath? Well if you break it down to basic mechanics it's a Tower Defense game. Woah, don't stop reading, it's not your normal TD game! It's...well it's hard to describe the greatness of this game. I'll just start explaining it to someone who has never played one of the GemCraft games before and doesn't know a thing about it.

There's a thin storyline of good vs. evil but mostly it's just about trying to kill monsters as efficiently as possible. In other TD games you get thing like a tower that shoots arrow, a tower that shoots poison arrows, a tower that shoots something that slows the enemies down and once you place those towers they are stuck there. Not so in this game. The towers are empty until you place a gem in it. Each gem has different color and different properties. Like the green gem poisons the enemy, the blue gem slows them. And you can combine gems! For instance you could have a green/blue gem that both poisons and slows, although their effects and diminished compared to a pure poison or slowing gem. THe reason to combine gems is that the raw attack power is increased greater than a pure gem. You can even combine 3 gems together or 4. Just remember that with each new color added it decreases the bonus (poison, etc) of each gem, though the attack power goes up. And you can upgrade your gemsl. They start at level one and goes up to level 12 (I think) though it will take awhile before you get that far. So you place walls and towers where you want them and then make the gems you want and place them in the towers. Like, I usually place poison at the beginning of the trail so that it slowly poisons the enemies as they walk to my Orb at the center. Once a gem is placed it is not stuck there, you can pick it up and place it somewhere else, just keep in mind that there's a few seconds before the gem comes online and starts shooting.

In addition to the gems you eventually get Enhancements to place on the gems that last a short while. Beam will shoot a powerful laser that decimates enemies. Bolt shoots a bolt at the enemy, very useful against giants. And Freeze will freeze all the enemies in a circular area you select. You get bonus experience points if there are 10 or more enemies caught in the freeze circle.

Unlike the usual TD game where you can only let x number of enemies get to the end of the trail before you lose, in this game you can have hundreds of enemies be banished at your Orb. It depends on how much Mana you have. Mana is used to create and upgrade gems, andplace walls and towers. You start with some mana and also gain it slowly throughout the battle and with every enemy killed you gain mana. Banishment depletes your mana. If enough enemies get to your Orb and your mana runs down to zero then you lost the battle. You get more experience points if no enemies make it to your Orb by the end of the battle.

Experience points increase your wizard level. Each time you level up you gain Skill Points. When you get an achievement you gain Skill Point(s) also. Skill Points are used to increase Skills, which you slowly gain more of as you travel. Examples of some Skills: one that increases how much mana you get by defeating enemies, one that decreases the cost of buying gems with mana, one that increases the attack power of the gems, the enhancements are skills (Bolt, Beam, Freeze, and others), then there are things I haven't talked about yet like Pylons, Lanterns, Traps. You decide how to allocate your Skill Points, just don't use them all or you won't have any Mana at the start of Battle. Unused skill points turn into mana. I usually leave enough so I have around 300 Mana at the start of battle.

Other things of note are the Flying enemies that occassionally appear. One is harmless, one tries to steal your best gem, and one just flies around and helps the ground enemies by increasing their defense, There are specialty enemies like the one that slowly marches towards your Orb and devours anything in it's path. And more, some I have not even experienced myself yet but have seen the names under the achievements undone list.

The music is eerie and haunting, I love it! It sets the perfect tone for the game.
Graphics are okay. You are looking down on the battlefield so we don't get to see exactly what the monsters look like. :-( There is blood on the ground when enemies die but I think there's an option to turn that off if you don't want to see it.

One of the things I love most about this game is replaying earlier levels only with increased difficulty and killing things!!! Getting more experience to level up more so I can increase my skills. Resign yourself to replaying levels because there are battle traits that increasse the difficulty, which also gives you a better chance of getting a higher level of fragment. I'd explain fragments and cores but this review has gone on long enough. They are explained in the game. Also Endurance and Trial Modes for each level.

10/10 (and that's rare for me) rating. Buy it now, or buy it later but buy it!

16 hours to play the main game on Normal difficulty, plus the bonus levels. I did not get all the achievements, that would take more time.

This is one of my favorite Match 3 series. What I love about it is the lightning circles (my term) that fall randomly in some levels. They have arrows in them pointing diagonally, vertically, or in all directions. When you make a match using one of the circles you get this crashing lightning sound and the arrow flies through all the tiles in it's way until it reaches an obstacle or the end of the board. Sometimes they are lined up by chance that using one sets off another or a whole bunch and then there's crashing sounds everywhere, tiles are flying and half the board is reset. What fun!

Another thing I like about this series is that the matching is not the main goal in and of itself, as in Bejeweled, but matching it used to open up new areas, there are winged tiles that can remake the board when matched or reveal a new area. You also have to release swords by letting them fall off the bottom of the board and they knock down some tiles that could not be cleared by matching by them. There are also keys that unlock things like treasure chests, gems, etc. It's often a puzzle trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do next.

As for this specific game in the series I think it's one of the best (minus certain bogus achievements). Instead of following a character along a path you have an underwater world that you slowly fill up with fish, buildings, flowers and heroes as you finish the matching levels in four categories: Flowers, Hearts, Gold, and...I can't remember the last one. By the end of the main story the whole screen is filled with stuff. There is a Main Story (sorry I don't know how many levels there are but it felt like a lot) and afterward there are 9 bonus levels and 9 bonus puzzle levels where you don't match just willy-nilly but there's a specific order you have to do things to solve it.

Occasionally there are Hidden Object levels where you have to find Vines, for example, that have been hidden throughout your underwater scene. Finding them can be very tricky but there is a Hint button that slowly charges up.

There are Achievements but I hate to break it to you Achievement Hunters but this game is not a quick and easy one to get 100%. Most you get just by playing like "Match 500 tiles" or "Match 1,000" tiles, etc. But the one that really irks me is "Play 40 levels in one sitting" Yeah, you read that right. What were they thinking? In the last game they had a similar achievement but it was 60 levels in one sitting. I actually did that and by the time I was done I was so sick of the game I never got back to it! Sometimes achievements backfire.

Overall it's a pleasant game, I love the underwater theme and I love the Lightning Circle things! Crash! Boom!

This is a unique match 3 game. It takes place in a fish shop which is run by Chubbybuns (I forget his real name) while you go diving with your net to catch new fish. Each match 3 level has a goal you have to reach before your tank runs out of air (match bubbles for more air) such as collect 15 blue fish, 20 yellow fish, and 5 pearls. Once you do that an object appears at the top of the match 3 area and you have to get it to fall out the bottom to collect it. Then you're back at the shop and if you have enough money you can buy cases and flooring to outfit and decorate your shop. There are three different themes to choose from and of course they are not all the same price. There's a cheap one, middle range, and expensive one. You don't have to stick with the same theme for everything you choose, you can mix and match to your preference.

There are also Hidden Object levels every so often. Once you have collected 3 items from the Match 3 phase you need to use those items to help you find all the objects, like something to open a box or a lever to move something heavy out of the way. Then match all the objects and go back to the shop.

Competition Levels. Occasionally there will be a competition and it shows you and some other people at the bottom with lines going to the next match and so on to the top where there is only one box for the winner. You will compete to see who can match 3 the fastest. If you beat the first guy you go onto the next match and so on until you win or lose. If you win you get a Trophy and it goes in the Trophy Case where you can look closely at it if you want. If you lose, that's it, no Trophy for you and no second chance. (Good thing they didn't have an achievement to win all the competitions or you'd have to start the game over from scratch if you lose one of them!)

This game makes matching things a lot of fun. It gives you a reason to match things (find a new fish!) rather than just match and go on to the next level, blah blah blah. And you can spend your money to furnish your fish shop to your taste. I highly recommend this game to match 3 enthusiasts who are sick and tired of the norm. This one keeps you interested.

First of all it's in RUSSIAN and I speak English. Why am I even allowed to buy a game that doesn't have my language in it?! Second of all it's just 3 very basic games using the cat and bread images. In one game you click on the cats and hit the next arrow for it to refresh the page and do that until the timer bar runs out (I got about 4-5 pages in before I ran out of time). Wow, so exciting. The second game is a clicker game, oh joy. You click on the image of a cat inside a jar as fast as you can until the timer bar runs out. Thirdly you have to move a small cat to the image of the bigger cat using the arrows. Once you reach to cat the page refreshes and the cat and bread are in different places. So run back and forth until...you guessed it!...the timer bar runs out. Wow, such game. Oh, but there are also hats you can put on your cat in the third game. There are many you have to unlock somehow (I ain't playing this game that long to find out how!)

I was intriguied by the title and got suckered. I'm warning you guys so the same doesn't happen to you. Buyer beware. Not all cat games are great!

Are you sick and tired of trolls on message boards just waiting to put you down once you post something? Have you ever wanted to ask a question on a forum and get honest, and positive feedback? Then this is the game for you!

You can write your own request (I"m dealing with this problem...) and get back positive letters from random strangers around the world. How cool is that?! You can also read other peoples' requests and respond to them with your own encouraging words. The Mail Deer will send them out and let you know if you got any replies or thank yous.

There are also stickers! You start with one and gain more when people send you thank you notes or replies to your request letter. Then you can use them yourself when you send out letters. Not only that, but the stickers morph into 3D objects to decorate your room (kitty sticker turns into a plushie on your bed).

The music is great and you get new tracks once in a while. There is a boombox where you can select a track you want to play.

It's amazing that such a positive game exists! I heartily recommend it.

This Collector's Edition is two games in one! After finishing the main game it unlocks a new game, plus more stuff to buy in the store, more backgrounds, etc. So this game is well worth the money.

It took me 28 hours to complete everything, except one of the hard achievements (play ace, king, queen, jack, and 10 all of the same suit and in that order! What are the chances that can happen?!?!?!)

For those of you who already know how to play this type of "solitaire" you can skip this paragraph. For those who are new to it, let me explain a bit how it works. You are given a display of cards facing down with a few cards facing up on top of them, and at the bottom there is your deck and any jokers and bonus abilities you have plus an undo button. You play by clicking on cards that number one up or one down from the card dealt from the deck. For instance, if you have a four, then you can click on a three or a five. You can rack up chains sometimes like: 2,3,4,5,4,5,6. Try to go back and forth, up and down like that. If you do a long enough chain (I think it's 6 cards) you get a bonus. The longer the chain, the bigger the bonus.

For those who have played this type of game before: In this game there are sometimes cards that are iced over and need to be played twice, Ones that have vines all over and you need to uncover an object to remove them in order for those cards to turn over. You earn gold by playing and can use that gold in the store to buy powerful abilities, jokers, more cards in the deck, more undos, randomly gets rid of one card, select a card to get rid of, and more. You can choose what your cards look like! Four different designs for the card backs, and some for the fronts as well. There is a special game arrow pointer you can use instead of the default one.

Bonus games! After playing awhie you will unlock bonus games of different solitaire variations. Once unlocked you can play them anytime.

Beautiful background you can set as wallpaper! The graphics are very nice. And the background music is nice too.

All in all this game is a must buy for fans of this type of solitaire.

I received a free key for this game but I wasn't expecting much and was blown away by the game.

This is not the usual type of Mahjong. Rather it uses Mahjong tiles to create a puzzle. The player needs to remove tiles in pairs, but only if they are on the same side or next to each other. These are randomly created puzzles that you can choose "solvable" or "random" depending on your style of play. Also there are 3 different sizes of boards from small to large. And different modes of play: Casual (includes hints), Regular (no hints), Time Attack, Mini-Game. There are Leaderboards to encourage you to try to beat your last best time and inch up the boards.

Achievements: There are a ton and you will have to play a ton of games in order to get them all. There are ones like Win 100 Casual games, and even Lose 50 games, etc. So for achievement hunters, this will not be a quick and dirty achievement game for you!

The Developer is nice and helpful (He gave me a free key. But then once I played a bit and got addicted I purchased a copy of the game for a friend, so we're even).

The music is awesome in this game! Written by some guy (sorry I forgot your name from the credits) and it has an asian flare to it, plus interesting song titles.

The price is amazingly cheap, so it's a no-brainer if you like puzzle games.

Have you ever wanted to fly? How about pressing a button and reversing gravity! If only we had floating upside down islands in our world.

One chance. That's all you get to find the right spot to press the button that switches gravity and drops your ball. Hopefully your ball misses all the obstacles and makes it into the home ground (which is denoted by being a different color than the rest of the ground). If you've played the other Grafi games then this is old hat to you, just know it's more of the same, more of what we love about this game: levels that make us curse like sailors! Seriously, I have not been able to make it through all the levels yet. I get frustrated and rage quit but I know I'll come back another day and try it again and maybe do it right.

The color this time is Pink. Ugh. Must be the Barbie version. Oh well, who cares what the background color is, you'll be too engaged by trying to find the right timing to avoid spikes, or spinning circular saws. And once you avoid the first obstacle they give you a jewel that lets you reverse gravity again and avoid more of whatever. Yay!

The music is quirky cute. Quite ironic since your ball is being killed by various hazards frequently. At least there's no blood, the level just instantly starts over as soon as your ball hits something it's not supposed to.

Price: well I got it on sale and don't regret it a bit. Or there is a bundle of a bunch of these games by the same Dev.
