Worthless and actually made the game worse.

At this point basically a copy-paste of mechanics from other PDX games, with worse UI and optimization. So unimaginative and exploitative that with Nemesis they sold a ship set already present in the game. Avoid, even on sale.

Another awful sh*tty launcher forced on paying customers years after purchase.

I whole-heartedly wish I could unbuy this bloated, unoptimezed, buggy, cash-grabbing piece of software.

The Ubisoft game (because there is only one game, and they keep publishing it every year) is entertaining for a few hours, but interest fades as soon as you tire of burning, running over, shooting and exploding things. Good for zoning out if you had a long day and don't feel up to playing twitchier or more "cerebral" games. But not for much else. Vaas is really good though. Overall can't recommend.

Ever played Final Fantasy Tactics? This is waaay better! Manage your soldiers, assign new abilities as they increase in rank, build their weapons and shoot some aliens! No two matches feel the same, as the AI offers new challenges every time: as soon as you begin to feel comfortable there comes along a new species, forcing you to rethink your approach. What's better is that there is no single way to play the game, but you have to adapt to your base layout and to your soldiers' classes. Immersive game world, very detailed but not hard on your computer specs, so it's always very smooth. Beyond base management, research and engineering the battlefield is the game's strong point, and I guarantee you'll think the AI cheats when your colonel misses a 95% shot, and you'll swear and shout at the screen whenever your squad faces unforeseen annihilation; you will cry like a baby girl when you meet the Sectopod! Yeah, it's that immersive.
Also consider getting the Enemy Within DLC, it expands the game adding maps and features like genetic mods and freakin' MECHS! Worth having but pricey, maybe wait for a sale as the base game is fine as it is, and that's saying A LOT in these days.

This has got to be the best western-style RPG I've ever played (and yes, I've played and thoroughly beaten Demon's Souls and Dark Souls)! The game world is immersive and beautiful, it does seem to go on existing even after you stop playing. You can do almost anything: don't like that arrogant peasant? Burn him! Low on cash? Break into houses and shops, or pickpocket the Jarl! The customization system is simple yet fun: you get better at what you do the more you do it. There are quite a few twists in the plot and you can always choose to ignore everything and go hunting dragons! True role-playing; you never run out of things to do in Skyrim! Fully moddable too, if you're in that kind of things.

A great game, it can be easy as pie or intensely difficult. Test your skill and try to balance your economy and production with your growing population and fleet and a plummeting bank account! There is so much depth here, so many interlocked things you have to decide. I do not recommend multiplayer as it is waaaay too slow for my taste. The only issues here are Ubisoft and its damn UPlay and a always-on internet connection.

A game that will test your reasoning as well as your skill. If you are looking for a strategy game that is not a clickfest and does not reward APM this is the one. Think of it like a CoH with melee! The single player experience is a bit stale and monotonous, but the multiplayer is fun and addictive. Sadly the playerbase is a bit small compared to, say, Starcraft 2, and the online community is more than a little harsh with noobies. And don't get the damn Elite mod, it only contributes to further reduce the playerbase and it's mostly smoke and mirrors!
